Case Study Presentations


PAIR ASSIGNMENT (15%)

Assignment objectives:

 To develop higher order, critical thinking skills with regards to how key service marketing
concepts can be used in analysing a range of real industry problems.
 To assist students in articulating, communicating and defending their ideas effectively.
 To assist students in developing understanding and analysis required for the company report
assignment.

Assignment Details
● This is a pair assignment.
● Student pairs will be given case studies to analyse, and a set of questions to tackle.
● In any given week of presentation, two student pairs will present. They will be given similar but
contrasting problems to address within the same case.
● Each case study presentation will start with a class activity to ensure class engagement and the pair
must ensure that they prepare for class involvement.
● Presentations will run from Week 4 to Week 9.
● There will be six cases to be presented by the student groups. The details of the cases and the
questions for each student pairs will be determined in the tutorial by the tutor.
● In addition to be a standalone assessment, the case studies and subsequent problems that the student
must address will serve as valuable skills and foundation for the other pair assignment in this unit:
The company contrast/comparison report.

Structure and Grading


● Presentations will be between 15 to 20 minutes. Followed by 5-10 minutes Q&A
● Presenters are required to develop a one page summary of their case presentation, which highlights
the ways they have tackled the questions.
● The summary should emphasize on delivering information textually. However, we encourage the
addition of visual elements (i.e model, process, workflow, etc) to enhance the summary’s
effectiveness.
● The presentation will be worth 15% of the grade.
