thought in to your reflection.

General
Being in the Award has helped me to hold my head higher and be more independent. I now have
pride in myself and all that I have achieved.

Physical Recreation
For Physical Recreation, I joined a local soccer team and was fortunate enough to qualify for the
national state championships in Victoria. This led to me becoming a junior soccer coach once
completing my Duke of Ed.

Skills
For my Skill I learnt the bagpipes. I took part in the local community band and joined the army cadet
band. I also had the opportunity to perform in the Virginia Tattoo in Norfolk, USA. I now mentor
primary school students in the community band.

Service
I volunteered for the St Vincent de Paul Night Patrol. This involved providing meals, blankets,
toiletries, food and most importantly, companionship to people experiencing or at risk of
homelessness within the inner city of Sydney.

Adventurous Journey
I completed a scientific exploration at Mt Kosciusko. I experienced temperatures of -22 degrees and
my highlight was crossing the Murray River. I enjoyed the challenge this journey presented and the
strong bonds that were formed.

Residential Project
I completed my Residential Project at Heron Island Research Station. I learned so many interesting
things about marine life. I was challenged outside of my comfort zone and formed many new
friendships.
