INTERVIEW-1

NAME: Chetas Neeraj Pattir.

A. Best experience in a team:

Description
 Chetas Neeraj Pattir is a student at VIT-AP pursuing his B.Tech
(Electronics and Telecommunication). In his 2nd year, he had the
opportunity of presenting his very own idea through a platform that
VIT-AP provided him with, Engineering Clinics.
 He worked in a team with 4 other members which had students from
CSE and Mech. The work was divided among the members of the
team according to what they were good at.

Objective:
 The aim of the team was to work together, in collaboration and with
a sense of diligence for completing the task assigned to each of the
member such that the final outcome turns out to be a project that is
very useful.
 People from different branches were assigned work that they were
taught properly for example,
 Students from CSE did the coding bit whereas Mech. did the
designing and on the other hand ECE did the circuit for the entire
setup to work.

Team Composition:
 Abilities and Willingness: So, basically, team composition refers to
the overall mix of characteristics among people in a team. This team
had Mr.Chetas who was actually the leader and led the group very
systematically to win the 3rd prize in the Clinics expo. Along with him
being very smart and supportive, his teammates were extremely
eager to do the tasks assigned to them and they did so out of their
initiative and will.
 Personalities: A combination of leadership, initiative, will and
diligence led them to a place where they are known for what they’ve
done.

Team Context:
 Trust and Collaboration: Although being assigned tasks that was
specific to their branch of study, people in the team worked in sync
such that any code or any design or any circuit that works in the
setup should not function in a way that does not match the
requirements of the proposed idea. In this way, every inch of the
project worked in such a way that every member of the team knows
how and why it is working.

Team Processes:
 Commitment and Team Efficacy: In the course of their work, there
were times when they had to go through a lot of disappointments.
Sometimes, the circuit went wrong and at times the coding part was
not up to the mark but in these times, when it felt like the project
wouldn’t work, every member of the team kept going and never gave
up. In fact, they improved over time and changed the way they would
approach any problem.
 The joint effort of the entire team made the project a great success
and as he says,
“This is my best experience in a team, so far. It felt great to work in a group where
everybody seemed to be eager to do what they’re doing and also at times when
everything seemed to go down, all of us sat together just to be there for each other
and we never gave up.”
B. Worst Experience in a team:

Description:
 Mr.Chetas had the opportunity to pitch an idea that was his very
own.
 The idea was brilliant but it required proper efforts so he tried to
form a team of 6 people.
 Soon after he started working, he realized there was a lack of trust
in his team.

Objective:
 The main goal of the team was to first present the idea and then
pitch it in way which could get him success.
 Further, the entire team had to work to build the product.
Team Composition:
 Abilities and Willingness: Even if there were people who were
able enough to do a specific job but their lack of urge to be a part
of this plan and idea led to disgraceful end of the idea.
 Personalities: No one could give a proper approach or any
method as to how to start and properly pitch the idea. Most of
them were arrogant and refused to give their opinion.
Team Context:
 Trust and Collaboration: The entire team had zero trust and
collaboration. Nobody wanted to work in a coordinated fashion,
everyone took their own pace in whatever they were doing.

Team Processes:
 Commitment and Team Efficacy: The approach to properly
present, pitch and develop the idea was ill organized and there
were no hard deadlines. A lack of communication among the team
members led to an absolute failure of the idea.
