TANRECTA-MAYILADUTHURAI
Monthly meeting of TANRECTA Mayiladuthurai branch was
conducted on Sunday the 10th Feb 2019 at 10.00 AM in Arivalayam
Matriculation School. Prof. R.Gnanasekaran welcomed the gathering
and spoke about the salient features of the Budget presented in Loksabah.
The secretary Prof.S.Murugesan read the concordant table recently
brought about. Prof.R.Ramkrishnan proposed the vote of thanks.
In our unit only 25% of members have received the revised pension
with arrears. Others are yet to receive and eagerly waiting for it. Efforts
to get it as quickly as possible are being undertaken. The following
resolutions were unanimously passed:
1. Resolved to bring to the notice of the centre, the non -issue of the
Health Cards to pensioners for over four years. We request the
Commissioner of Treasuries and Accounts to make arrangements
for the speedy issue of Health Cards to all the pensioners at the
earliest.
2. Resolved to request the centre to impress upon Commissioner of
Treasuries and Accounts to make arrangements for recording the
revised pension in the PPO of pensioners/family pensioners when
they appear for mustering.

3. Resolved to thank the office bearers of TANRECTA in helping the
members to get the revised pension.
4. Our meeting for the month of March will be held on 10/3/2019.

CHENNAI UNIT
The meeting was attended by 110 members. Dr. V. Swaminathan
presided. Dr. V. Swaminathan in his address gave complete details about
the Jacto Geo struggle in Tamil Nadu during Jan 2019. He appealed to
tanrecta members to participate in such programs of Jacto geo and JAC
in large members and thus strengthen the trade union movement of gov-
ernment employees and teachers in TamilNadu. For the annual mustering
of pensioners, the unit will make arrangements for online generation of life
certificate. For this purpose, the president of our unit, Dr. Swaminathan
has donated a finger print Scanner which will be used for our members.
The details will be announced in the next monthly meeting. Dr. Swaminathan
briefed the house about the monthly follow up by the unit office – bearers
in connection with the pending unit and individual issues.
The Secretary, Dr.R. Lawrence in his report, informed the house
that he was happy that numerous representations were made to tanrecta
for redress of pending individual grievances at various levels, namely col-
lege, RJDCE, DCE, PPO and Treasury offices in Chennai. Detailed rep-
resentations were made to the PPO for favourable orders including resto-
ration of commutation and sanction of revised pension for the college
teachers. The implementation of the higher fixation of 14940 for all teach-
ers instead of for the select 611 teachers was stressed by the secretary
and the unit felt that tanrecta should seek legal remedy for the issue.
The concordance table issued by the government of Tamil Nadu
clearly indicated that the officials are insensitive to the issues of college
teachers . Once again, great injustice has been done for the teachers
who retired between01.01.1986 and 31.12.1988. These teachers who
are in their late eighties were hoping that justice would be done to them
but the concordance table negates the social justice of equality before
law for these soon to be nonagenarians.
The unit acknowledges with thanks the donation of finger print
scanner for online mustering by Dr.V. Swamianathan and the generous

donations of Dr. Premakumari Rajasekaran (Rs 4000/=) and Dr. Kanthi
Shenbagaraman (Rs 4000/=) for tea expenses of the unit. Hearty thanks to
S. Anandhi (QMC) and Dr. Salahudin (JMC) for their donations to the unit.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks by the Joint secretsry Dr. Albert.

KUMBAKONAM UNIT
This unit of Kumbakonam, met on 9th February, 2019, the second
Saturday of this month in the premises of Gopal Rao library, Town Hall
Road, Kumbakomam, by 5.30, in the evening. Prof C.Rajasekaran, president
of the unit presided. The following members celebrate their birthday in this
month of February. Dr. Prof. K.S. Vasudevan , [ 20 – 02 – 1946 ] and
Prof. S.Pandian ,[ 12 – 02 – 1949]. We wish them a happy Birth-day. It
is proposed to have our unit’s Annual dinner on 9th March, 2019.
We request all our members to attend the meeting and take part in
the Annual feast of our unit. Being in the fag end of the year 2018 –
