Hazelnut Meringues with Chocolate sauce

Ingredients (serves 6)
Egg whites- 4
Castor sugar- 225 gm
Ground Hazelnuts- 125gm
Toasted Hazelnuts- 50gms
Fresh strawberries to decorate

For the Chocolate Sauce:


Plain dark chocolate: 225 gm
Butter-50gm
300ml double cream

Procedure:
 Preheat oven at 150 deg Celsius 10 minutes before baking.
 Grease a tin and place a parchment paper.
 Whisk the egg whites in a bowl and then start adding the
castor sugar one spoon at once.
 Whisk until stiff and dry.
 Then add in the ground hazelnuts and mix.
 With the aid of two spoons, spoon out 12 spoons of the
mixture in the tin. Sprinkle some more hazelnuts onto each
and place in the preheated oven and bake for 1½ hrs or until
dry and crisp.
 Thereafter leave to cool.
 Make the chocolate sauce.
 Sandwich two meringues with whipped cream.
 Pour the chocolate sauce on the sides as well as on top. Also
decorate with the whole strawberries.
