 MNH to launch new nature mag calls for papers

The Museum of Natural History (MNH) will soon launch a new magazine/popular
journal to be called, “Nature Philippines” to accommodate popular and semi-
technical articles. Topics include the natural heritage in the Philippines –
biodiversity, plants, animals (including insects and wildlife), fungi, microbes,
protozoa, algae and many other things in nature, including forest reserves like
Mount Makiling, environmental problems, genes to populations to ecosystems,
systematics/taxonomy, evolution, conservation, endangered species and
ecology and even abiotic components as well as people who study things
about nature---the naturalists.

News, notes or features about explorations, expedition or collection trips are also
encouraged. It will, likewise, entertain intelligent and stimulating discussions on
things and issues about nature and the environment as well as science and its
implications on nature and people.

The narrative popular style for submitted articles is emphasized although no

restrictions are imposed on the specific writing preferences of the author(s).
Articles may be full-length features, news, notes, or short communications, letters
to editor, book reviews, essays or photographs with captions or photo-essays.

Prospective authors may obtain a copy of the general information for

contributors or send three copies of their manuscripts to The Chair, Board of
Editors, Nature Philippines, c/o Museum of Natural History, or call (049)536-2864
