PROFESSIONAL RESUME I 2008 - 2018 INTRODUCTION

Hi!
My name is Johan,
I am a Swedish Industrial Designer with working experience from Italy, Spain and Mexico. I
appreciate both the technical and creative parts of a project and the puzzles that emerge when
trying to join their pieces in order satisfy emotional and practical needs intertwined with one
another.

A WARM WELCOMING
Mexican design is appreciated for its warmth and richness in colours and
details. It is a style that often differs much from European in aiming to
create excitement rather than harmony. A brave taste often gives room
to creativity and interesting projects such as the office for the real estate
Inver Inmobiliaria.

COLLABORATION
The new interior design
aimed to fullfill the clients
wishes - to differentiate the
client from other brokers and
to stand out in a saturated
market. My contribution was
designing and developing
the production of the desk
(left) and the reception
desk, walls and sealing
(previous page). The office
was planned by architect
Elias Adam who supplied us
with material. Together, we
at ABAKA designed furniture
and proposed materials and
textures for walls, roof and
floors.
My contribution was the reception desk, walls and sealing as well as the desk for the
head office.

SEE THE SEA
FEEL THE SEA
The role of the sea in humans life has been important for centuries, as people
experience the sea in contradictory ways: as powerful but serene, beautiful but
dangerous. See the Sea Is a public bench for beaches and coastlines. Inspired
by peoples common preference to sit on rocks by the sea it allows for a greater
accessibility even for those with an impaired mobility. It offers a harmonic seat for
contemplation and sun bathing for the visitors in an otherwise often monotonous
environment.

DOGGIE BAG - D.I.Y.
The food industry is with a good margin the sector producing the most green
house gases. Still, about 1/3 of all food being produced goes to waste while
still in good condition. This project aims at making us more aware of how we
are handling food through design and games.

When needed, the packaging TaMeDe [Swe. Bring It] is folded by the costumer from a
placemat. Close at hand and common in all restaurants, specially so on fast food chains
with advertisement on a plastic tray, it is primarily aimed at children as Happy Meals or
similar. Through a creative game the user is made aware of the importance of bringing
the leftovers and can also be a pass time for children during long dinners.
The packaging would be made of mineral paper, biodegradable and resistant to both fat
and liquid it is an optimal material to further reduce the environmental foot print.

Using 3D printing the casing was printed from a 3D model, where parts from an disassembled hand whisk were fitted into
the new casing.

Working Prototype
By using the spare parts a functioning prototype was achieved and activated by pressing together the two parts of the
chassis over a blue rubber strip cut out with a laser. It can be held both as a pen, resting between the thumb and index
finger, and as a “skiing stick” for a more steady grip.

A LIVING MATERIAL

A total of about 30 small and 3 large lamps were sold in stores and on order in Puebla and Cholula.

The branches have to be collected shortly in water with salt for 24h which makes them
after being cut and should be kept for 1-2 more rigid and speeds up the drying. After
weeks in a dark and ventilated area after being dyed in a cool and ventilated area for
which the bark can be peeled using warm another 1-2 weeks they can be worked on
water. After being peeled they are submerged without the risk of cracking.

In collaboration with the local artist Marisol Monroy Rocha some

screens were made with knitted fabric.
