INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES

(SEMESTER MARCH 2011)


SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY AND CULINARY
ARTS (SCA)

CODE OF BEHAVIORISM DURING INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

1. Report duty on the specified date.


(Fill up the report duty form and fax to Colleges immediately)

2. Punctuality
(Obey the working hour and lunch hour of your respective
company)

3. Obey the rules and regulations of the participating companies


(Once attached you are temporarily belonging to the company)

4. Wear appropriate working attire

5. Inform your supervisors if you unable to be present on duty.


(Produce medical certificates or letter with valid reason)

The students must comply 24 weeks duration of training.


(Effective 25 March 2011– 19 September 2011)

6. Update your logbook. (You can make your own format for logbook)

7. Contact your colleges supervisor if inconspicuous matters


regarding your training.

1. Attendance
- 1st and 2nd Briefing
30%
- Industrial Attendance
2. Report
- Log book 30%

3. Internal Supervision
- First Visit 20%
- Second Visit
4. Exam
- Practical Exam 20%
- Final Presentation

1. Attendance (30%)
 Evaluation is based on student’s performance (general performance,
student’s ability and capability to accomplish the assigned task)

2. Report (30%)
 Students should submit their reports two weeks after the completion of
their industrial training to their supervisors.
 The format of the report is as attached.

3. Internal Supervision (20%)


 Evaluation is based on student’s performance (work quality, work
quantity, decision making, initiative, teamwork, reliability, creativity,
participation, dateline adherence and application of the theory.
4. Presentation (20%)
 Final practical exam is based on the final cooking after the student
complete the industrial training.
 Evaluation for presentation is based on vocal, technique, creativity,
and commitment and also grooming.
GUIDELINES FOR INDUSTRIAL TRAINING REPORT

A. The report should contain

4.1 Suggestion (s) for improvement based on the findings from analysis

5.1 What have you learnt?
5.2 Was the training a success?

7. Appendices
(Logbook / any material crucial for assessment)

B. The report should be :

 Typed
 In Malay
 Single sided
 Double spaced
 Page number is at the bottom right of the page
 Less than 35 pages

C. The font

 Arial , Size 11

D. The report should be submitted within 2 weeks after the completion of the
training to the internal supervisor assigned to the students.

E. Students will be penalized for delay in submitting reports.

F. One copy tape binding and one copy comb binding. The cover page is
color blue.
