PART II
A. PRE - READING STRATEGY
.

Before reading you can state what you already know and what you want to learn
about the topic, this is called the K W L method. In this strategy, you can now
determine things you already know about the certain article you want to read. You
can use other strategies like, determining what kind of academic text you want to
read. And determining the authors target audience.
• What you know about the topic? (K)
• List down what you want to learn. (W)
• Write down what you learned. (L)

B. DURING READING STRATEGY

.

During reading you can highlight important information you have read. In this
strategy you can now easily spot the important information. Highlighting is effective
during reading. But you can write down information at the margin or at the free space
of your book or article. This is effective when you saw a word that is not familiar to
you. You can search its meaning and write it down at the margin space.

C. POST READING STRATEGY

.

After reading you can now write what you have already learned. You can use
the method K W L. We use that method in pre reading strategy but we leave the "What
you have learned?" part. After reading you can now answer it.
