First Year Japanese 101 Fall 2019 Bi-monthly Schedule 1 *subject to change

JAPN101 Fall 2019

How to Use a Bi-Monthly Schedule

1. Calendar
Each box has contents of what you are going to learn in class that day, quiz or exam and
assignments if any. I strongly recommend that you print this calendar out and keep it handy to
use every day. This wonderful calendar will help you to…

- PREVIEW every day

- REVIEW every day
- Plan to work on your ASSIGNEMENTS or/and study for a QUIZ or EXAM!
- Pay attention to all the assignment DUES (しめきり in Japanese)!

2. PREVIEW every day!

Look ahead within the calendar and preview every day.
Preview is very important to help you keep up in every day class and also allows an everyday
class to function smoothly. It is especially expected to memorize vocabulary before you come
to the class. Preview is critical to maximize our class time for oral practices in class.

3. REVIEW every day!

Review is as important as preview.
Review to see if you understand what you learn on that day. I recommend that you do some
exercises in the textbook or do Workbook exercises to review.

4. ASSIGNEMNETS
There are no every day assignments but PLAN to work on your scheduled assignments little
by little in order to avoid last minute rushes! WARNING! Usually there are many pages to
complete. Also, doing assignments when you learn certain grammar is the best way to check
your understanding before the lesson ends!

5. QUIZ/EXAM
There is no everyday quiz or exam but language learning is calmative.
You may not be able to memorize everything one night before the quiz or especially for big
exams such as midterms and a final. Therefore study for the quiz or exam well in advance!
たんごクイズ=Vocabulary Quiz かんじクイズ=Kanji Quiz
かんじテスト=Kanji (Midterm) Exam ちゅうかんテスト=Midterm Exam

6. Finally, KEEP UP with the everyday schedule!!
