TIM - Technology Integration Matrix

Entry- Teachers have the SOLE and DIRECT access to technology tools. (Teacher-centered)

*Si teacher lang ang gumagamit at nagmamanipulate ng technology tools para magtransfer ng
info/learning sa students. (MAKINIG LANG KAY TEACHER)

Adoption- Students opportunities to use technology tools are limited and controlled. Teachers choose
what tools to use, when to use it, and how to use it. (Conventional/Procedural use of technology tools)

*Si teacher pa rin ang masusunod pero may opportunity na si student na makagamit ng technology tool.
(MAKINIG KAY TEACHER PARA ALAM MO GAMITIN ANG PINILI NYANG TOOL)

Adaptation- Teacher facilitates. Students independently use technology tools in conventional ways.
Students have freedom to utilize TEACHER's chosen tools.

( MALAYA NA SI STUDENT GAMITIN ANG TOOLS PERO SI TEACHER ANG MASUSUNOD KUNG ANONG
GAGAMITIN

*of course may knowlege na sila kung pano gamitin ang tools bago sila pabayaan.*)

Infusion- The teacher provides the learning context, and the students choose the technology tools to
use.(SELF DIRECTED LEARNING)

(GUIDE NA LANG SI TEACHER. SI STUDENT NA ANG PIPILI NG GAGAMITIN *though ichecheck pa rin ni
teacher kung tama ba ang piniling tool ni student sa task na pinagagawa nya*)

Transformation- Gives emphasis to the importance of technology tools. Tools are use to facilitate higher
order learning activities that may not have been possible without the use of technology.Students are
encouraged to use technology tools in unconventional ways and are self-directed in combining the use of
various tools.(SELF DIRECTED LEARNING, SUPPORTED BY VARIOUS TECHNOLOGIES)

(IHAHANDA NA LANG NI TEACHER ANG LEARNING TASKS NA COMPLEX ,and then SI STUDENT NA ANG
bahalang pumili ng MGA technology tools na gagamitin. )

MATH: PEMDAS or MDAS Rule.

If x + 10 = 15, solve the equation 2x² + 3x - 5= n.

First step, solve the value of "x" of the first equation.

Alin ang first equation sa problem? Yung x + 10 = 15.

So, x + 10 = 15

x = 15 - 10

I transposed 10 from the left side of the equal sign to the right side. Note that kapag naglipat tayo ng
number from the other side of the

equals, magbabago ang sign nito. Kaya naging -10 (negative ten or you can say naging 15 -10 ang right
side).

So, x = 15-10 = 5

x=5

Ngayong nakuha na natin ang value ng "x" sa first equation, pwede na natin i-solve ang second equation.

2x² + 3x - 5 = n

Yung mga "x" sa equation, papalitan natin ng "5" since 5 yung value ng x sa first equation. Dito, papasok
ulit ang PEMDAS/MDAS rule.

Let's do it now.

2(5)² + 3(5) - 5 = n

Unahing i-solve ang may exponent.

2(25) + 15 - 5 = n

50 + 15 - 5 = n

60 = n

or

n = 60 (the final answer)

1. From a group of 7 men and 6 women, five persons are to be selected to form a committee so that at
least 3 men are there on the committee. In how many ways can it be done?

A. 564 B.645 C.735 D.756 E.None of these

Answer & Explanation

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

We may have (3 men and 2 women) or (4 men and 1 woman) or (5 men only).

Required number of ways = (7C3 x 6C2) + (7C4 x 6C1) + (7C5)

= 7 x 6 x 5 x 6 x 5 + (7C3 x 6C1) + (7C2)

3x2x12x1

= 525 + 7 x 6 x 5 x 6 + 7 x 6

3x2x12x1

= (525 + 210 + 21)

= 756.

2. In how many different ways can the letters of the word 'LEADING' be arranged in such a way that the
vowels always come together?

A. 360 B. 480 C.720 D.5040 E.None of these

Answer & Explanation

Answer: Option C

Explanation:

The word 'LEADING' has 7 different letters.

When the vowels EAI are always together, they can be supposed to form one letter.

Then, we have to arrange the letters LNDG (EAI).

Now, 5 (4 + 1 = 5) letters can be arranged in 5! = 120 ways.

The vowels (EAI) can be arranged among themselves in 3! = 6 ways.

Required number of ways = (120 x 6) = 720.

3. In how many different ways can the letters of the word 'CORPORATION' be arranged so that the
vowels always come together?

A. 810 B.1440 C. 2880 D. 50400 E. 5760

Answer & Explanation

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

In the word 'CORPORATION', we treat the vowels OOAIO as one letter.

Thus, we have CRPRTN (OOAIO).

This has 7 (6 + 1) letters of which R occurs 2 times and the rest are different.

Number of ways arranging these letters = 7! = 2520.

2!

Now, 5 vowels in which O occurs 3 times and the rest are different, can be arranged

in 5! = 20 ways.

3!

Required number of ways = (2520 x 20) = 50400.

A. Non-Verbal Intervention

1. PLANNED IGNORING--- is based on reinforcement theory that if you ignore a behavior, it lessens and
eventually disappears

2. SIGNAL INTERFERENCE--- is any type of non-verbal behavior that communicates to the student
without disturbing others, that his behavior is not appropriate. Signal behaviors must be clearly directed
at the off-task student. There should be no doubt in the student mind that the teacher is aware of what
is going and that the student is responsible for the behavior.

3. PROXIMITY CONTROL--- is any movement towards or taking up a position in the vicinity of the
thedisruptive student. Proximity control combined with signal interference results in a very effective
non-verbal control technique

4. TOUCH CONTROL--- is a light non-aggressive physical contact with the student that the teacher
disapproves of the disruptive behavior.

B. The Verbal Intervention

1. ADJACENT REINFORCEMENT---it is placed first in the hierarchy because it gives the student chance to
control his own behavior without any intervention on the part of the teacher that call attention to the
student on his behavior.

2. CALL ON THE STUDENT NAME-DROP---when a student is behaving inappropriately, the teacher may
redirect the student to appropriate behavior by calling on the student to answer a question, if asking a
question is a part of the lesson.

3. HUMOR---humor that is directed at the teacher or at the situation rather than at the student can
diffuse tension in the classroom as well as redirect students to appropriate behavior

4. QUESTION AWARENESS OF EFFECT---sometimes students who disrupt learning are genuinely not
aware of the effect of their behavior on other people. Making them aware of how their behavior affects
other people is a powerful technique for getting students to control their behavior
5. DIRECT APPEAL--- another technique that is very useful for instances in which a teacher enjoys
referent or expert power base is a direct appeal. Direct appeal means requesting in a courteous way that
students stop disruptive behavior

6. POSITIVE PHRASING--- many times parents and teachers fall into the trap of putting more emphasis on
the negative outcomes of misbehavior than the positive outcome of appropriate behavior.

7. “ARE NOT FORS”--- of all the verbal interventions, the “are not fors” is the most in use. It is
implemented primarily when elementary or preschool children misuse property or materials and is
generally effective behavior in a very positive way.

8. REMINDERS OF THE RULES--- when the teacher has established a clear set of classroom guideline of
rules early and has received students’ commitment to the rules, misbehavior frequently may be curbed
by merely reminding disruptive students about the rules.

9. GLASSER’S TRIPLETS---Glasser proposes that teacher ask disruptive student three questions in order to
direct the students to appropriate behaviors; a. What are you doing? b. Is it against the rules? c. What
should you be doing

10. EXPLICIT REDIRECTION---consist of an order to stop the misbehavior and return to acceptable
behavior. The redirection is made in the form of a teacher command and leaves no room for student
rebuttal.

11. CANTER’S BROKEN RECORD--- has developed a strategy for clearly communicating to the student that
the teacher will not engage in verbal bantering and intends to make sure the student resumes
appropriate behavior. Canter labeled this method “the broken record” because the teacher behavior
sounds like a broken record to the student

C.INTERVENTION FOR CHRONIC PROBLEMS

If the students continually misbehave even after all the preventive intervention techniques have been
appropriately employed but they disrupt learning, interfere with the work of others, challenge teacher
authority and often try to entice others to misbehave on a fairly consistent basis, these could be done.

1. BEHAVIOR CONTRACTING---a behavior contract is a written agreement between the teacher and
student that commit the student to behave more appropriately and provides a specified reward for
meeting the commitment.

2. ANECDOTAL RECORD KEEPING---it can be used for remedying chronic behavioral problems. This
method has been used successfully by veteran teachers to handle a variety of chronic discipline
problems. Anecdotal record keeping is an interactionist approach to controlling classroom behaviors.

The above- mentioned interventions could be applicable to some but not to everyone, so it is in the
discretion of the teacher to what intervention she will apply for a certain disruptive student or students.
But at the end of the day, one could realize that being an effective Classroom Manager is not a talent
which some people just have or others do not but it is a set of skills and an attitude learned through
patience and practice.
