WHAT IS included?

Students on the Autism spectrum have varying special interests.

I try and make my independent work station as engaging and
personalized as possible so they are more inclined to want to do
the center independently. I have included a bunch of different
options in this download. I have also included an editable version
for you to customize the center for your own student or child. I
find myself most often browsing the internet for random
pictures of Fast Food restaurants or things like that because my
students have specific interest. Please email me if you don’t

TEACHER instructions
1. find an area in your classroom that has a desk and a shelf on one side
2. print out a mini schedule, laminate and add Velcro. Put this on the desk
in the independent center.
3. print, laminate, cut any picture symbols or numbers that you will be
using for this center.
4. Prepare the center materials by either labeling the actual tasks or the
shelfs with the matching pictures.
5. When students are ready to complete the center independently,
prepare and start the center.

THE STORY
behind my name
I am a special education teacher who is
obsessed with making resources. That
is what started my journey on TpT in
2015. I try my best to make high quality
resources for teachers like you and
me. This is where the “ChalkBoard”
came from. The SuperHero is more
near and dear to my heart.

I am a mother of two beautiful children. My daughter,

Ava is my crazy, smart and beautiful little toddler!
My son, Jacob, is amazing and was born in August of
2015, with Down Syndrome. We had no idea that he
had an extra chromosome. We also found out that
he has a heart defect and will need open heart
surgery when he becomes strong enough. He spent
14 days in the NICU and came home on oxygen. He
soon became very well known in our house as the
SuperHero. He is my inspiration every day, and is
our little superhero.
