INVITATION FOR SPONSORSHIP
SRI LANKA NATIONAL UNDER 19 CRICKET TEAM
ICC UNDER 19 CRICKET WORLD CUP IN BANGLADESH
FEBRUARY 2004
1. INTRODUCTION
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), successors to the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka
(BCCSL), at No 35 Maitland Place, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka, since gaining test status has
played against several Test playing countries and also undertaken several reciprocal tours
with their Junior National Teams as well over the last few years.
In addition, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also conducts regular events covering all
major Cricket playing countries with the Cricket World Cups being the major event looked
forward to by all Cricketers.
The Sri Lanka National Under 19 Cricket Team is due to take part in the next ICC Junior
World Cup Tournament to be held from 15 th February to 5th March 2004 in Bangladesh. This
tournament is conducted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the premier junior
tournament.
Sri Lanka Cricket has offered sponsorship of Tours / Tournaments, TV/ Radio, Team/ clothing,
and other individual areas from time to time to cover specific events and periods.
The successful partners would derive direct and indirect benefits through these sponsorship
packages on offer. Cricket being the local and international entertainment sport receive wide
coverage via TV, Radio and press, thereby the sponsors also automatically receive wide
local and international exposure through all media.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) now invites offers from interested parties to be the Team sponsor of
the Sri Lanka National Under 19 Cricket Team for the Junior ICC World Cup 2004.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Sri Lanka Cricket would give much publicity to
this event through the local and international press and other media. The ICC has invited
their International TV Broadcasters to cover the series with play being described by popular
and competent International commentary panel.
These matches would also be seen live on TV within Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and also other
participating countries around the world.
3. PERIOD OF SPONSORSHIP
The period of sponsorship on offer is for three (3) months from 1 st January 2004 to 31st March
2004, which covers the period prior and immediately after the Junior World Cup.

5. SPONSOR REQUIREMENTS
Sri Lanka Cricket envisages a sponsorship fee in Sri Lanka Rupees or United States Dollars
in return for being the Sri Lanka Under 19 team sponsor and the benefits enjoyed as
indicated below.
6. SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS
The successful bidder enjoys all benefits of sponsorship subject to other conditions as
specified herein. It must be also noted that the successful bidder receives such rights and
benefits which are in keeping with the guidelines of the International Cricket Council (ICC)
prevalent for this event, and other conditions that apply to tournament and matches played
overseas.
Sri Lanka Cricket will make available members of the Team during the continuance of the
Sponsorship for the sponsor’s promotional activities in the following manner.
(a) Attendance of the Team reasonably requested by the Sponsor for one promotional
activity in Sri Lanka.
(b) Attendance of the Team for one photographic session (in Sri Lanka) in official attire
as a Team.
(c) The sponsor with the prior written consent of the SLC and the Team members, is
entitled to use such photographs taken collectively of the team in any of its
promotional activities / advertisements during contract period.
(d) Sponsor is required take prior written consent from the player and the SLC if it so
wishes to use the photograph of any one individual player(s) in any promotional
activities/ advertisements after the end of contract period.
(e) The Sponsor is permitted to be use photographs taken of the team, only for the
express purpose of promoting the Sponsor’s products or services only.
(f) Team Sponsor may host at their cost one goodwill dinner / function during the series
in Sri Lanka and during the event overseas which shall be attended by Team
Members.
(g) Each Team Member shall sign one cricket bat
for the Sponsors, for its archives and not for
sale.
(h) 10 complementary tickets per match/ venue
when granted by the tournament organizers.
(i) One free strip advertisement at the SCORE
magazine – official newsletter of SLC.
(j) Any other reasonable request would be
considered based on sponsorship offered.

7. CLASSIFICATION OF CLOTHING OFFERED TO TEAM SPONSOR
The coloured ODI clothing items covered by the Sponsorship includes playing and
practice wear items.
The design and manufacture of Cricket Clothing would be undertaken by the SLC in
consultation with the Clothing Sponsor. The final decision of the design / style will
remain with SLC, and such designs /styles of such Sporting Apparel will remain the
property of SLC with sole rights for it’s marketing as well.
The Sponsor will be required to supply at their cost to SLC the design/ artwork of
their logo for the purpose of display on cricket clothing.
8. TERMS OF PAYMENT
(1) 50% of the sum offered at the time of award of sponsorship / signing
of (execution of) contract
(2) Balance 50% of the sum offered on or before 1 st January 2004
9. STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
The bidder must comply with all clauses, sub-clauses and specifications adhering to the
format of this Invitation of Offers for Sponsorship and include a Statement of Compliance in
the proposal clearly indicating that the proposed sponsorship offer comply with all such
requirements.
The bidder may propose additional benefits that they wish to offer SLC. However, such
additional benefits would only be considered in the evaluation of bids subject to the bid
complying with minimum requirements. The SLC reserves the right to accept or reject any
such alternative offers without adducing any reason whatsoever.
11. ICC CODE OF CONDUCT, STANDARD PLAYING CONDITIONS AND OTHER
REGULATIONS
.
All international cricket matches and tournaments conducted by member countries of
International Cricket Council (ICC) are governed by the Code of Conduct Standard Playing
Conditions and Other Regulations issued by ICC, as indicated herein. The sponsorship offer
will therefore be subject to such regulations, as applicable at the time of the tour / match.
12.1 BIDDER
Bids shall only be submitted in writing by the Organization / Company / Firm. The bid
must be signed by two officers of the Organization / Company / Firm who have the
necessary authority as per the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
12.3 CURRENCY
All bids shall be made in Sri Lanka Rupees or United States Dollars and would be
subject to VAT being added and payable for which an Tax invoice would be
forwarded by the SLC for reclaiming.
