CODES AND STANDARDS ‘The earthing protection system instalation work shall conform to the latest applicable electricity rules, all currently applicable standards, codes of practice, Tagulalions and safety codes of the locality where the installation is to be carried out. Connection between earth leads and earthing terminal provided on the tank shall be bolted type unless specified otherwise. 43 Welding operations and fluxes shall be as per the approved standards, 4.4 + Alljoints shall be made such that contact resistance Is negligible. 45 All bimetallic connections shall be treated with suitable compound to prevent moisture ingression 5.0 TESTING OF EARTHING SYSTEM i. The CONTRACTOR shall ensure the continuity of all conductors and joints. Following tests shall be done after compietion of entire earthing job. 51. Earth pit resistance measurement by earth meggar of 10 Ohm range. Earth pit resistance for earth pits with grid shall not be more than 1.0 Ohm. 5.2 Certificate for earth test shall be submitted by the contactor as per IE rules & regulation. 6.0 CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE it will be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to obtain necessary License/Authorisation permit for work from the Licensing Board of the localily/state where the installation is to be carried out. 7.0 WORKMANSHIP The CONTRACTOR shall ensure workmanship of good quality and shell assign qualified supervisors! engineers and competent welders/iabour who are skilled and ‘experienced in their trades. COMMENDED RRACTIES FOR EARTHING 80 R 8.1. Earth Resistance of the System should not exceed 1.OHM 8.2. Minimum Spacing between two electrodes shall be twice the length of the electrode 8.3.
