1. Define and give the formula of enthalpy.

- Enthalpy is a thermodynamic quantity equivalent to the total heat content of a system. It is equal to
the internal energy of the system plus the product of pressure and volume.

Formula: H = E + PV

H = Enthalpy

E = Energy

PV = Pressure multiplied by Volume

2. What is Hess’ Law?

- Hess's Law of Constant Heat Summation, also known as Hess’ Law, states that regardless of the
multiple stages or steps of a reaction, the total enthalpy change for the reaction is the sum of all changes.
This law is a manifestation that enthalpy is a state function.

3. Standard Enthalpies of Formation of Common Compound at 25°C and 1 atm.
