Springfield Pancake Festival
Springfield, IL - The 17th annual Springfield Pancake Festival will take place this weekend,
Betterment Association of the Springfield Area, Inc. and the Springfield Area Jaycees. The
surrounding community, including civic organizations, churches, school children, and local
In previous years, the money raised from this festival was donated to the city of
Springfield for park renovations, the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, the Gateway
Ambulance service, and towards scholarships for local high school students.
At the festival, the menu will consist of pancakes and an assortment of delicious
toppings, such as nuts, berries, jams, and fruits. These plates will be served all day both Saturday
and Sunday. The cost of an admission ticket and a Pancake plate is $12 for adults and $6 for
children. The festival will also have hot dogs, ice cream, popcorn, pies, soft drinks, coffee, iced
The event will have country music playing both days and there will be kiddie and
carnival rides. Over 100 booths will be set up at the festival displaying arts, crafts, and special
foods. There will also be tickets to purchase for drawings on a 16-foot boat, trailer and outboard
motor.

While the festival is a huge attraction, there are many other things to do in Springfield
besides eat pancakes. Some attractions include swimming, fishing, camping, hiking, horseback
riding, boat tours, gilder and plane rides, and shopping at the flea market. For any guests visiting
from out of town, Springfield has a wide selection of campgrounds and motels to stay at.
