Springfield 17th Annual Pancake Festival This Weekend

Springfield, IL - The 17th annual Springfield Pancake Festival will take place this weekend,

March 3 and 4, 2018 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Springfield Pancake Festival is a non-profit event and is co-sponsored by the

Betterment Association of the Springfield Area, Inc. and the Springfield Area Jaycees. The

surrounding community, including civic organizations, churches, school children, and local

businesses, all volunteer to make this event possible each year.

In previous years, the money raised from this festival was donated to the city of

Springfield for park renovations, the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, the Gateway

Ambulance service, and towards scholarships for local high school students.

At the festival, the menu will consist of pancakes and an assortment of delicious

toppings, such as nuts, berries, jams, and fruits. These plates will be served all day both Saturday

and Sunday. The cost of an admission ticket and a Pancake plate is $12 for adults and $6 for

children. The festival will also have hot dogs, ice cream, popcorn, pies, soft drinks, coffee, iced

tea, and cold beer.

The event will have country music playing both days and there will be kiddie and

carnival rides. Over 100 booths will be set up at the festival displaying arts, crafts, and special

foods. There will also be tickets to purchase for drawings on a 16-foot boat, trailer and outboard

motor.
