Course Learning Outcomes:


1. Practical cognitive tools, including the ability to clarify important terms, draw important distinctions, think
critically and consistently about moral issues.
2. Identify and distinguish important ethical concepts, principles, and theories.
3. Apply these concepts, principles, and theories both to controversial moral and social issues and to everyday
ethical decision-making.
4. Reframe and creatively solve ethical problems.
5. Engage in “Community of Inquiry” who collaboratively engage in purposeful critical discourse and
reflection to construct personal meaning and confirm mutual understanding.
6. Engage in substantive personal reflection about the relationship between moral obligations and values and
living a good life.
