Marikina High School Canteen is not ‘Cool as Cucumber’

The School Canteen of Marikina High School is located at F. Torres St. Concepcion,
Marikina City, inside the main campus of the school and is in between of Del Building and
Quimbo Building. School Canteen sells variety of foods and drinks to the students and teachers.
It has 20 staff/workers and each of them is assigned to do different task that would help in
running the whole canteen smoothly.
The price of every beverages in the canteen are also displayed to allow the student to
choose which menu will suit their allowance, every displayed food and beverages only cost as
low as 50 pesos which is a good price because most student prefer to buy food in its cheapest
price aside from that one of the good things that a student may notice at the canteen is the staff
because of their welcoming friendly attitude when serving the students and teachers, they wear
their proper (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment when at work and they also know how to
thanks and entertain their customers.
Despite of those good qualities that are present at the canteen, probably some student
would still think twice if they should buy there or not because of its ambiance where tables and
chairs are not well-arranged and some plate are also not properly washed.
During break or recess time it is also noticeable that the canteen can be too over-crowded
making it difficult for the student to buy, considering that the canteen has no enough chairs some
of the student still have to wait for the chairs to be vacant so that they can sit and eat aside from
that the canteen also has no ventilation. To sum it up the half of the 20 minutes break will only
be wasted by waiting for vacant area at the canteen.
If any suggestion will be welcome to the management of the canteen we would gladly ask
them to prioritized the discipline, cleanliness, and most of all the smoothness of their service not
only for the student or the teachers but also for its own good.
Prior to what we have noticed, we graded the school canteen 3 out of five. Hopefully its
management would give attention in improving their skills and speed performance.
