OVERVIEW
The world needs not only the younger generation who are committed to creat e global
security and prosperity, but also the younger generation who can respect the
differences they encounter in making their respective contributions. It has been proved
that acting as a diplomat, discussing and conducting diplomacy in finding solutions to
world problems -activities undertaken in un model simulations -can help young people
understand the process of conflict resolution internationally.

Model united nations serves as an educational simulation and academic competition

that is popular for tho se interested in learning more about united nations and the art
of diplomacy. It is estimated that more than 400,000 students worldwide participate
every year in MUN at all educational levels from primary school to university. Many
of today’s leaders in la w, government, and arts had participated in MUN as students.

ARAB YOUTH INTERNATI ONAL MODEL UNITED NATION (AYIMUN) aims to gather
youth from all over the world to impart and acquire ideas coming from diverse set of
culturew and experience.

ARAB YOUTH INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATION will be an exciting opportunity

for the youth o foster dialogue on creating change and bulding peace in countries
around the world. The conference will challenge delegates to debate on the arising
global issues, to draft r esolutions in response to the problem , and collaborate with
others who are equally motivated and passionate in creating change and addressing
the issues

OBJECTIVES
To introduce the youth to the concept of Model United Nations

To empower delegates from around the world with leadership and diplomatic skills

To improve the diplomacy skills and develop ideas to adress thr current pressing
global issues

To gain International exposure by acquiring experience from collaborating with

delegates around the globe

To give youth the needed knowledge and skills to bring about change for themselves
and to the world

DESCRIPTION OF EVENT
The event indonesia mun consists of several activities conducted in 4 days, including
opening ceremony, committee session, expert workshop, networking night, gala dinner
and awarding night.

A) OPENING CEREMONY

Opening ceremony occurs during the beginning of ayimun ,which seeks to

introduce the theme and values of the event through keynote speeches ,
performances , symbolization of opening , and delegate briefing.

The opening speech will be delivered by the secretary general of united

nations , followed with several keynote speeches by representatives from the
United Nations.

The opening ceremony then will also include beyond MUB , which is a talkshow
about the benefits gained by speakers who have done model united nations and
the implementations of the benefits that have been obtain ed in future job
prospects.

B) COMMITEE SESSION

Committee session is the conference in which participants will act as delegates

or representative of the United Nations member states to discuss upon global
issues. The committee session serves as the simula tion of a UN conference that is
directed and moderated by our tightly selected directors, which there will be
sessions to be held over three days . Indonesia Mun 2018 Will Host Seven
Committees. Each Committee Discusses A Topic Within A Specific Committee O f
The United Nations

1) UNSC

The Security Council consisting of 15 members , has

he primary responsibility of maintenance of peace
and security.

The Security Council takes the lead in determining

the existence of a threat to the peace or an act of
aggresion. It calls the parties to settle disputers by
peaceful means and can resort to impose sanctions or authorize the use of
force to mantain peace and security

2) UNDP

UNDP works in about 170 countries and territories ,

helping to achive theereadication of poverty and the
reductions of inequalities andexclusion. It helps countries to
develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities,
institutional capabilities in order to sustain deveopment
results.

UNDP considers the current time period as a huge opurtunity to advance the
global sustainable development agenda. The Sustainable Development
Goals set in 2015 , cover most of the global challenges in todays’ worldand
will ensure the creation of a better planet with peace and prosperity for all.

3) WHO

The world Health Organizations (WHO) which is

concerned with International public health, seeks to
direct and coordinate international health within the UN
system to ensure the highest attainable level od health
for people , its main areas of work include he alth
systems, communicable and noncommunicable deiseases
and the coordinations od responses to health
emergencies

4) OIC

Established in 1969, the OIC or the Organisation of

Islamic Cooporations is an International Organizations
comrisinf 57 member states wi th significant muslim
populations. The OIC seeks to safeguard the interests and
well being of Muslims in the spirit of promoting
international peace and harmony. Its work covers a range
of fields such as peace and security , science and technology, economy and
trade and information - issues previously discussed include the Israel – Palestina
conflict and counter- terrorism.

5) EXPO 2020 DUBAI

This commitee is the simulation of grand expo to be held

in Dubai 2020. Discussion about themes and sub -themes of
the expo, mock sessions relating to investments, brands,
and R&D will also be held.

6) INDO PAK SUMMIT

In this edition of AYIMUN 2019 , INDO -PAK will be

discussing all the current and historical relations
between Pakistan and India. It will mainly focus on
the intentions accross LOC and the current state status
of Kashmir

7) DISEC

Disarmament and international security commitee

( DISEC ) delas with dismarmament global challenges
and threats to peace that affect the international
community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in
the international security regime.

regulation of armaments , promotion of cooperative arrangements and
strengthening the stability through the lower levels od armaments all within
the scope of charter.
