Energy Balanced Threshold Using Game Theory Algorithm

for Wireless Sensor Network Optimization

Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) as a monitoring system proponent needs stable condition. Some
clustering techniques in wireless sensor networks have been implemented to gain a good
performance related to a reduce in energy dissipation. Hence, keeping the energy on the
clusterheads to be balanced become very crucial. Logically, the cluster member nodes’ distance to
clusterhead and sink node could affect the networks stability. To maintain a balance environment,
cluster head energy configuration management become a priority. Game theory has been
introduced into problem solution by arranging energy allocation. Nash Equilibrium, a kind of game
theory character was used to have a correlation among the energy variables. By threshold weight
determination base on balanced energy using game theory algorithm, the network life time can
prolonged. In this work, the Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering (DEEC) protocol - a
heterogenous clustering protocol - has been modified in terms of its threshold factor in order to
improve the wireless sensor network performance.
