As shown in the Gantt chart and task allocation table, the work was divided equally between the team
members in order to ‘share the risk’ among the members and minimise disruptions. Additionally, to avoid
any schedule risk and mitigate student syndrome, the work on the project started early where an initial
meeting was held following the group formation which resulted in forming a Whatsapp group to use it as a
communication channel. During the concept development phase (project selection), idea screening was
implemented based on different criterions such as resources availability resulting in choosing the subject
of Burj Khalifa Construction as the topic for this project. Furthermore, as part of project control measures
in terms of quality and time, regular weekly progress meetings were held to compare the actual project
status with the plan and to discuss the relevant section and have consensus on its content. This robust
plan enabled the group to finish the report 2 weeks before the deadline, allowing time to study for the final
exam and to further enhance the report. Overall, synergy and team work is what drove our group forward.
