A person knows psychology when he or she can’t get mad because he or she understand

everyone’s reasons for doing everything.” A certain behavior of an individual has an explanation.
There is always a reason behind it. Psychology can explain it. Everything that is related about
human behavior is all studied in Psychology. Thus, what is Psychology? What is it in a broader
sense?

Psychology is the science of behavior and mind. Psychology includes the study of
conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. It is an academic discipline
of immense scope. Psychologists seek an understanding of the emergent properties of brains, and
all the variety of phenomena linked to those emergent properties. In this field, a professional
practitioner or researcher is called a psychologist and can be classified as a social, behavioral, or
cognitive scientist. Psychologists attempt to understand the role of mental functions in individual
and social behavior, while also exploring the physiological and biological processes that underlie
cognitive functions and behaviors.
If one is a psychologist or even has a passing interest in the field, one has likely encountered
the question about whether psychology is truly a science or not. The debate flared in the
blogosphere a couple of years ago, after an op-ed piece by a microbiologist in the LA Times
declared definitively that psychology was not a science, followed by several pieces in Psychology
Today and Scientific American declaring definitively that psychology is, in fact, a science.
Psychology is the study of the mind and behavior, according to the American Psychological
Association. It is the study of the mind, how it works, and how it affects behavior.

There are different types of psychology, such as cognitive, forensic, social, and
developmental psychology. A person with a condition that affects their mental health may benefit
from assessment and treatment with a psychologist. A psychologist may offer treatment that
focuses on behavioral adaptations. Cognitive psychology is the scientific study of mental processes
such as "attention, language use, memory, perception, problem solving, creativity, and thinking".
Forensic psychologists are most commonly licensed psychologists who specialize in applying
psychological knowledge to legal matters, both in the criminal and civil arenas. They hold graduate
degrees in psychology, most often a PhD or a PsyD. Forensic psychology is a subdiscipline of
psychology. Social psychology is the branch of psychology that deals with social interactions,
including their origins and their effects on the individual. Developmental psychology is the
scientific study of how and why human beings change over the course of their life. Originally
concerned with infants and children, the field has expanded to include adolescence, adult
development, aging, and the entire lifespan.
