The City Government of Davao organized the Kadayawan Farmers Market to
showcase the bountiful harvest of the City and for the farmers to have a place where they can come together to sell their produce directly to the consumers. It will be held on August 21-25 in Magsaysay Park. The farmers market is a place for business and trade while at the same time foster social gathering and community activity. By cutting out middlemen, it can offer farmers/processors a more profitable way to sell their crops/products. They also give farmers, processors, and the people in the city a special way to get to know each other and learn about each other’s needs.
Farmers’ market provides a pleasant alternative to crowded supermarket shopping.
They provide urban consumers with high quality produce which, because of its freshness, is often more nutritious than produce sold at stores.
