Ang probinsya ng Pangasinan ay kilalang pasyalan ng mga turista dahil sa bilang ng naggagandahang
dagat na matatagpuan sa Bolinao, Anda at Dasol. Dito rin makikita ang sikat na Hundred Islands na
pinagmamalaki ng bayan ng Alaminos.
Dahil napapalibutan ito ng karagatan, ang pangunahing produkto dito ay ang "asin" na kung saan
hinango ang pangalan nitong "Pangasinan" na nangangahulugan ng "lugar ng asin" o"pagawaan ng
asin." Ito rin ang parehong dahilan kung bakit malilinamnam ang mga pagkain dito, kaya ng magawi
kami dito, hindi namin pinalagpas masubukan ang ilan sa pinagmamalaking putahe ng mga
Pangasinense.
1. Kaleskes
Ang Pigar-pigar ay isa sa sikat na pagkain sa Galvan Street sa Dagupan City. Ito ay karneng baka na
hiniwa-hiwa sa maliliit na piraso at pinirito na may kasamang gulay. Ang Pigar-pigar ay salitang
Pangasinense na nangangahulugan ng "binalibaliktad" dahil sa pamamaraan ng pagluluto nito.
Kadalasan na ginagawang ulam ito ngunit mastaniyag ito bilang perpektong pulutan kasama ang
beer.
Kinikilo ang bentahan ng pagkain na ito. Mula sa 80-100 pesos ang presyo ng 1/4 kilo nito na
pwedeng haluan ng gulay tulad ng cabbage o cauliflower at sibuyas. Iba't ibang bersyon pa rin ang
maaring matikman na dumidepende sa restaurant na nagluluto nito.
3. Bangus and hito
At syempre hindi maalis sa listahan ang malinamnam na Bangus Dagupan. Iba't ibang uri ng pagluto
ang matitikman ngunit sa Rudy-Jing Eatery sa kahabaan ng Nansangaan Road sa Binmaley (kung
kayo ay magagawi) ay maskilala ang inihaw na bangus dahil maliban sa presko ito ay talaga namang
malinamnam ito. At maliban sa bangus, ang inihaw na hito ang pinipilahan ng marami. Maslalo itong
pinasarap dahil sa sawsawang bagoong na nilagyan ng kalamansi at sili. Umaabot ng mula 150-180
ang bawat isang piraso ng hito at bangus depende sa laki nito.
Tuwing Abril ay idinaraos sa Dagupan ang Bangus Festival kung saan masasaksihan ang iba't ibang
putahe na ibinibida ang isdang bangus.
4. Putong Calasiao
Sino ba naman ang hindi nakakaalam sa putong ito dahil basta bayan ng Calasiao ang pag-uusapan,
ito ang unang sasagi sa iyong isipan. Ang Puto Calasiao ay pagkaing mula sa giniling na bigas at
binuburo ng ilang araw bago ito lutuin at maging isang masarap na puto. Ang maliliit na bilog na
pagkaing ito ay may iba't ibang flavors tulad ng cheese, ube, pandan at maging strawberry.
Kadalasang kinikilo ito kapagbinibenta at nagkakahalaga ng mula 80-100 per kilo at atatatagpuan
ang nagkukumpulang tindahan nito sa Pamilihang Bayan ng Calasiao. Kung pasalubong ang hanap,
siguradong swak na swak ito.
5. Rice cakes and delicacies
Maliban sa Puto Calasiao, ilan pa sa mga kakanin at lokal na pagkain ang inyong dapat matikman sa
Pangasinan ay matatagpuan sa pamilihang bayan o palengke rito. Isa sa sikat na kakanin dito ay ang
"Inkaldit/Patupat" o isang uri ng minatamis na lagkitan na niluto sa gata at binalot sa dahon ng
niyog na nilala. Maihahambing ang lasa nito sa biko at ang kanyang itsura sa 'puso' sa Bisaya.
Sa iba pang bahagi rin ng Pangasinan ay kilala ang tupeg, bitso-bitso, binungey at marami pang iba.
Ito rin ay perpektong ideya na regalo o pasalubong para sa mga kaibigan.
6. Seafood
At syempre, papahuli ba ang Pangasinan pagdating sa mga pagkaing-dagat? Maarami ang mga
kilalang restaurant sa Dagupan dahil sa sari-saring seafood na inaahin dito. Isa dito ang Matutina's
Seafood's House and Restaurant. Ngunit kung kulang ang budget o kaya nagtitipid, dumayo lamang
sa Tondaligan Beach sa Bonuan dahil marami rito ang mga naglalako ng iba't ibang uri ng seafood sa
sobrang babang presyo. Mula sa 100-200 ay maari ka na makabili ng ilang plato ng hipon at
alimango na nilalako ng mga mangingisda rito.

1. Hundred Islands
Composed of more than a hundred small islands and islets in the Lingayen Gulf, Hundred Islands is
one of the most popular tourist spots in Pangasinan. Its most visited islands are Governor’s Island,
Quezon Island, Marcos Island and Children’s Island.
Location: Alaminos
Fee(s): P20 daytour; P40 overnight at any of the islands plus the boat fees
depending on the number of passenger.
Operation hours: Day Tour is from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm

activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and snorkeling.
Insider info: The best time to visit is during the dry months from November to May. Boat
Rentals are available from 7am-5pm at Lucap Wharf.
Activity tips: Don’t forget your power banks as charging cell phone and gadgets is expensive.
ATM Machine is available at the Tourist Information Center at the Lucap Wharf. Make sure to
bring extra cash.
2. Sky Plaza
Located at the eastern part of Pangasinan, Sky Plaza is a public park and view deck where visitors
can enjoy sweeping scenes of Natividad and its neighboring towns.
It is also the jump-off point to the short but challenging trek up Ayat ni Apo Jesus, a pilgrimage site
featuring a Christ the Redeemer statue standing on top of a hill.
3. Patar Beach
Dubbed as “The Boracay of Pangasinan” with its very long stretch of white sand beach and crystal
clear waters, Patar Beach is a must have in your itinerary. Don’t miss the romantic sunset view here.

Highlight(s): Enjoy the sea, sun, and sand in a postcard-worthy view.
Insider info: Kayak through Ilog Malino, the river alongside the beach and reach the view point
where the river merges to the sea.
Activity tips: Patar Beach is excellent for swimming; however, there isn’t a lot of underwater
marine life that you can observe when you snorkel. Be careful exploring with your bare feet. It’s
advisable to wear slippers or surf shoes.
Our Lady of Manaoag is a religious shrine with countless miraculous tales and healing powers. The
devout Filipino Catholics revered Our Lady of Manaoag as the patroness of the sick, the helpless and
the needy.
5. Sunflower Maze
Dare to try a maze challenge at the first ever sunflower maze in the Philippines by Allied Botanical
Corporation. The farm also features parts where visitors are allowed to a pick-and-pay treat to harvest
their fresh crops.
Don’t miss hot and cold spring swimming pools which offer varying temperatures.

Activity tips: You have to take the zipline first before going to the pool. You also need to try the
native specialties available such as tupig, patupat and tuba.
7. Death Pool
Would you dare dive into the so called “Death Pool” in Cabongaoan Beach? It was a term
humorously coined by the locals to describe the natural swimming pool that forms near the beach
whenever the tide comes in and fills it with saltwater.

Highlight(s): Dip in the clean and clear water of the Enchanted Cave.
Insider info: It’s said that there’s a small passage to the sea at the very end of the cave and that is
where the water comes from. Amazingly, the water is believed to be replaced almost every 4
seconds because of the air coming from the small passage.
Activity tips: The water inside the cave is deep and it is not recommended for those who can not
swim. Bringing of food and beverages except for bottled water is prohibited inside.
