LARRY
I’ve been to Paris, London, Johannesburg, and Sydney.

EVELYN
Well, if you haven’t be to New Delhi, I’m telling you, you need to go.

LARRY
I’ve got a trip to Rio scheduled for the spring, so that’s next.

EVELYN
That’s not in India.

LARRY
It is not. You’re right.

EVELYN
You need to go to New Delhi.

LARRY
I’m not saying I don’t want to go to New Delhi. I’ve got a trip to Rio de Janeiro in the
spring.

EVELYN
What’s in Rio?

LARRY
Lots of stuff.

EVELYN
Why are you going?

LARRY
Because I want to see the stuff in Rio.

EVELYN
Pure vacation.

LARRY
Sightseeing. Memory making.

EVELYN
You can do those things in New Delhi.

LARRY
I can’t see anything of Rio in Delhi. I have to go to Rio to see Rio things. It’s kind of
how it works.

EVELYN
You should see Delhi things.

LARRY
I can’t. I’ll be in Rio.
(beat)
I’ll go to Delhi next fall.

EVELYN
Do you promise?

LARRY
Sure.
(beat)
What happens if I break that promise.

EVELYN
Don’t.

LARRY
What happens if I do.

EVELYN
You do not want to know.

A moment.

LARRY
I kinda want to break it now.

EVELYN
You can’t.

LARRY
I can. I mean, not until after next fall, but I think I’m going to.

EVELYN
No. You have to go to Delhi.

I’m feeling Reykjavik.

EVELYN
No.

LARRY
I hear Iceland is beautiful in the fall.

EVELYN
Do they even have fall?

LARRY
Does Delhi?

EVELYN
Tell me when you get back.

LARRY
From Reykjavik?

EVELYN
No. Delhi.

LARRY
I see.

EVELYN
You will when you go to India.

LARRY
When I go.

EVELYN
Next fall.

LARRY
I think I’m busy next fall.

EVELYN
Busy doing what?

LARRY
I got this trip to Reykjavik...
