As the old saying goes, “united we stand, divided we fall”, unity is indispensable in
every organization to accomplish its common goal. To create and establish a
successful business or enterprise, you need to have an organized group of people
to help you get that success. Furthermore, you need to keep those people and
motivate them work together as one. When that seems to be not happening within
your workplace, it can be a red flag that your organization is in trouble and is
heading into the verge of failure. Thus, you should immediately act to unite
individuals inside your organization. You should learn how to lead and influence
them towards accomplishing your organizational aims.

WHEN PEOPLE ARE DIVIDED

Good management and leadership are two of the most important components of
business development. But when walls are dividing the people within your
organization, a tougher leadership skill is required. Companies, whether big or
small, usually suffer from divided employees. Workers have different attitudes,
values and habits. This alienation among themselves causes them separation in
mind, emotions and even in spirits. Some people may become envy or insecure of
the others. Some may just dislike his or her coworkers without any reasons. When
these things happen, your working organizational environment and workflow
become ineffective and inefficient. People become distracted, uncomfortable,
unhappy and unproductive.

HOW TO UNITE THEM

How to unite people in your organization? Simple, but not easy, you need to lead
them. You need to become a tough leader who can break those walls that are
dividing them. You also need to become a selfless leader who opens windows for
your workers so they can cheerfully breath, glance and say hello to their coworkers.
But what are those walls that should be broken? What are those windows that you
need to open?
BREAKING THE WALLS
Anger, envy, misunderstanding, insecurity, selfishness and lack of interest, these
negative forces can form walls that can separate your employees from each other.
To break these unwanted things, you need to use the hammer of kindness to break
anger, equality to break envy, openness to break misunderstanding, opportunity to
break insecurity, responsibility to break selfishness and passion to break lack of
interest. You need to self-produce those things and then plant them on each of
your workers. The golden rule is that you need to be a good example and an
outstanding model of those virtues. Remember that you can’t persuade your
people to eat something, without eating that thing first.

OPENING THE WINDOWS

If you’re the owner, employer or the boss of your business, certainly you are the
one who has the major control over your company. As the primary influencer, you
should open the closed windows that put your people in isolation. You should think
of the many opportunities that can help your people and your entire organization
to grow. For instance, if you don’t want them to feel insecure, you can bring them
to professional and personal development trainings to sharpen their true skills,
talents and potentials. Also, if you want to eradicate anger, envy and
misunderstanding among your workers; you can bring them to out-of-office
activities, such as team building and retreats. If you want them to regenerate
enthusiasm, you can empower them by giving them exciting and relevant tasks
which are not in their routine. There are many windows and opportunities that you
can discover and open for them. You just need to explore both the inner and the
outer parts of your organization.

BE A TRULY GREAT LEADER

To truly lead people is not just to make them followers. You should also make them
good leaders of themselves. In other words, you need to teach them how to lead
themselves. Moreover, a great leader doesn’t only lead people, but he also follows
them. He assures that he is following himself, his people and the whole
organization. This is how he influences people to accomplish a common goal.
Finally, the most powerful bonds that can unite a group of people are not only
policies, but principles; it’s not only money, but joy; it’s not only emergency, but
consistency; and it’s not only duty, but the unity of all the good virtues that forms
this powerful thing we called… LOVE.
