I. Introduction

Taxidermy is the preserving of an animals body via mounting or stuffing, for the
purpose of display or study. Animals are often, but not always, portrayed in a lifelike state.
The word taxidermy describes the process of preserving the animal, but the word is also
used to describe the end product which are called “Taxidermy”. The word taxidermy is
derived from the geek word taxis and derma. Taxis means “to move” and derma means
“skin” the taxidermy translate to “ Arrangement of skin”. Taxidermy is practiced primarily
on vertebrates but can also be done to larger insects and arachnids. Museums use taxidermy
as a method to record species, including those that are extinct and threatened.

II. Materials

 Scalpel

 Mask

 Gloves

 Needle

 Thread

 Button

 Cotton

 Water

 Blower

 Borax

 Salt

 Newspaper

 Powder

III. Procedure

1. Freeze the animal.

2. Remove skin from the flesh.

3. Wash the skin with powder to prevent the bad smell.

4. Dry the skin.

5. Rub borax and salt inside the skin.

6. Leave the borax and salt for 24 hours.

7. Add cotton inside.

8. Sew the open cut.

9. Put a googly eyes on part of the eyes part of an animal.

10. Make a habitat of an animal.

IV. Problems Encountered

 Having a hard time restoring the former look of the rabbit.

 Difficulty with sewing.

Conclusion

We therefore conclude that if you add borax it can reduce the bad smell, and when you
sew the open cut well enough,the animal will look more alive.
