Solemn Eucharistic Adoration for the Solemnity of

Our Lord Jesus Christ King of the Universe

The adoration takes the place of the Final Blessing.

Exposition
(Kneel)

While the hymn is sung, the presider takes the Blessed Sacrament from the tabernacle and puts it
in the Monstrance. After the Blessed Sacrament has been exposed, he incenses it.

Prayers of Dedication
(Sit)

After the silent adoration, the presider and other ministers may return to their seats. The
Representatives of the Parish Community (Children, Young People, Men, Women, etc.) will come
to the steps of the Altar during their respective turns. They will return to their seats after their
turn.

I. Dedication of the Children

The dedication will be led by the children of the parish.

Commentator: Let now us listen to the Word of God about the children.

And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but
the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant

whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter
it.” Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.

Reader 2: O Christ our King, we are here to offer You the children of the parish,
who along with their parents, You love and care for. Receive us, O Lord,
just as You once received all the children when they were gathered to

My son, do not forget my teaching,

Reader 4: O Lord, King of the world, we are here to offer You all the youth of the
parish. Receive us Lord, as adopted children of Your Father in Baptism.
Guide all our goals and keep us from sin. May we love and acknowledge

III. Dedication of the Women

The dedication will be led by the women of the parish.

Commentator: Let us now listen to Jesus entrusting of His Mother to St. John,
who represents us all

Reading [John 19:25-27]

Reader 5: A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister,
Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his
mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother,
“Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your
mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

Prayer
Reader 6: O Jesus our Lord, who was conceived in the womb of a woman, the
most blessed and loveliest among all women, may You accept our
offering that we may be an example and be like Your Beloved Mother.
We now approach Your Most Sacred Heart so we can be closer to the
Beloved Mother. Accept all the women here today. And may our love
for You flourish every day. We ask this in Your name, forever and ever.

Priest: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among
women; and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

People: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our

IV. Dedication of the Men

The dedication will be led by the men of the parish.

Commentator: Let us now listen to the Word of God according to St. Paul
concerning Christian Husbands.

Reading [Ephesians 5:25-30]

Reader 7: A Reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed
himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water
with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor,
without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and
without blemish. So also, husbands should love their wives as their own
bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hates his own
flesh but rather nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ does the
church, because we are members of his body.

Reader 8: O Lord, our Redeemer, accept the offering of all the men in the parish

Dedication of the Parish to Christ the King

The presider and the other ministers will return in front of the Altar, if they have not yet done so.
The prayer of dedication of the whole parish community will either be the A.) Act of Dedication
of Christ the King or the B.) Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Commentator: We have reached the end of our homage to the Lord, the King of
the Universe. Let us pray for peace especially in our nation, and
offer our family here at [church name] to the Lord, the King of the
Universe.

Priest: Loving Jesus, Redeemer of the world,

we are Yours, and Yours we wish to be.
To bind ourselves to You even more closely
we kneel before You today

Priest: Have mercy on all have never known You

and on all who rejected You and refuse to obey You;
gentle Lord, draw them to Yourself.

 B.) Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

All: Most Sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us, humbly
prostrate before Your Altar. We are Yours and Yours we wish to be; but to be
more surely united with You, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself
today to Your Most Sacred Heart.

Many, indeed, have never known You, many too, despising Your precepts,
have rejected You. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw
them to Your Sacred Heart.
Be You king, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You,
but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they
may quickly return to their Father’s house, lest they die of wretchedness and
hunger.

Be You king of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom

discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of
faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.

Be You king also of all those who sit in the ancient superstition of the
Gentiles, and refuse not You to deliver them out of darkness into the light and
kingdom of God.

Grant, O Lord, to Your Church, assurance of freedom and immunity from

harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from
pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our
salvation; to it be glory and honor forever. Amen.

The presider will incense the Blessed Sacrament while the hymn is sung.

The presider will put on the Humeral Veil. He will bless the people with the Blessed Sacrament.
After blessing the people, he will return to the front of the Altar to lead the people in the Divine
Praises.

Reposition
(Stand)

The presider will remove the Blessed Sacrament from the Monstrance and return it to the
tabernacle while the hymn is sung. The presider and other ministers will depart the sanctuary.
After the priest and ministers have left, the congregation may also depart.
