Truth in Love at 40
Just recently, School of the Holy Spirit of Quezon City celebrated it’s 40 years of
existence. The annual school fair entitled ‘Truth in Love at 40’ was hymned last February 1 and
2 of 2019. This helped in commemorating the school’s anniversary through various activities
such as the enthralling variety show, Fortissimo. The variety show consisted of jaw-dropping
performances presented by students, teachers, alumnae, and a few other guests. But, the fun
doesn’t end there! Traverse, a so-called Alumnight, was also one of the main highlights of the
school fair. Similar to the variety show, many performances made this event an unforgettable
one. Another fun activity enjoyed by many was the fun race entitled ‘Evolvere’. It was an
hour-long race wherein students, teachers, and parents race against each other up to the finish
line. This competition kept everyone enraptured and excited, but that’s not the only
competition everyone was waiting for. Confianza, a talent show, was introduced last February
of 2017. It showcased talents like no other by our very own teachers and students. Many sang,
danced, and even acted. Related to said event, the Open Mic yet again was opened to everyone
to showcase their own talents, but with no competition or prizes. With the name ‘Vivifica’, it
helped and inspired students of all ages break out of their shells and show everyone what they
can do. And finally, the school fair itself. There were many to see in the school grounds, but
what stood out the most were the fair rides. The most-awaited ride was the ‘Octopus’ that has
been in the school fair for a long time. Next were the food and non-food booths. In able to
purchase a certain item or meal, everyone is required to buy chits which only cost ₱100 each.
Many things made this school fair a very unforgettable one to SHSians, but the one thing
they’d never forget is the fun and laughter they’ve shared to make this celebration better and
successful. Truly, The School of the Holy Spirit deserved the celebration they are well worthy of
after 40 years of hard work.
