PHOTOGRAPY
The word "photography" was created from the Greekroots (phōtos), genitive of (phōs), "light" and
(graphé) "representation by means of lines" or "drawing"
Still life photography is a genre of photography used for the depiction of inanimate subject matter,
typically a small group of objects. It is the application of photography to the still life artistic style. An
example is food photography.
Cinematography, the art and technology of motion-picture photography. It involves such
techniques as the general composition of a scene; the lighting of the set or location; the choice
of cameras, lenses, filters, and film stock; the camera angle and movements; and the integration
of any special effects.

The rule of thirds is a concept in video and film production in which the frame is divided into nine
imaginary sections, as illustrated on the right. This creates reference points which act as guides for

Fashion photography is devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items. Fashion

are very close to the lens, the film or the sensor.

Documentary photography usually refers to a popular form of photography used to chronicle events
or environments both significant and relevant to history and historical events as well as everyday life.

Stock photos (stock photography) are professional photographs of common places, landmarks,
nature, events or people that are bought and sold on a royalty-free basis and can be used and reused
for commercial design purposes.

Photojournalism photography is a particular form of journalism that employs images in order to tell a
news story.

Aerial photography is the taking of photographs of the ground from an elevated/direct-down position.
Usually the camera is not supported by a lun and ground-based structure.

Conceptual photography is a type of photography that illustrates an idea.

Shallow focus is a photographic and cinematographic technique incorporating a small depth of field.
In shallow focus one plane of the image is in focus while the rest is out of focus. Shallow focus is
typically used to emphasize one part of the image over another.

Deep focus is a photographic and cinematographic technique using a large depth of field. Depth of
field is the front-to-back range of focus in an image — that is, how much of it appears sharp and clear.
Indeep focus the foreground, middle-ground and background are all in focus.

Depth of Field (DOF), also called focus range or effective focus range, is the distance between the
nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
