The author of this article guarantees that, “Almost all verbally expressed
humour is translatable, given appropriate strategies and reasonable criteria for
success” (p.?). The article focuses on two problem areas, those are, “language-
specific jokes (in particular puns) and culture-specific jokes” (p.?). So, as a way
of translating, we must distinguish the two of them to make the job an easier
job.
 Low makes sure to remind us that, humor writers have the liberty of
embellish some words to obtain success in their jokes.

The author also talks about “universal humour”, on how this must be
handled by a translator and how to “bridge cultural gaps without killing the joke”
(p.?). His last matter is the problem with obscenity on jokes, such as sexual
innuendos, can be seen on different cultures.
