Bullying among High School Students

defines bullying as a threat or physical use of forcing and more. Bullying at schools
is increasing in recent years. Bullying in school is an issue that continues to receive
attention from researchers, educators, parents and students. Researchers
increasingly find that bullying is a problem that can be detrimental to student’s
well-being. The common assumption that bullying is a normal part of childhood
and encompasses minor teasing and harassment. This article focuses only on the
prevalence of bullying, but also on those students who reported being the victim
of direct, and indirect bullying, and both of them. Additional analysis describes
the characteristics of students affected by these types of behavior and the
characteristics of schools in which the behaviors occur. These distinctions allow
readers to differentiate between students who were either physically (directly) or
socially (indirectly) bullied, and also to identify those students who were bullied
both physically and socially. The research explained everything that is related to
bullying. Based This article stated that bullying is a part of adolescences life. But if
it cause harm it is a problem. School is the second home of children, teachers is
our second parents, but there is a factor that cause hindrances to attain the
harmonious relationship in the classroom. As years goes by studies conducted by
the researchers resulted to increase of bullying among students in the school
premises, bullying can be social, physical, emotional, cyber or mental. Social
bullying happens between peers inside and outside the school. This type of
bullying starts with bad words and using pen name for example piggy oink oink,
instead of calling his/her true name. It directly affects the children who
experience bullying. Decreased self-esteem, and confidence. Afraid to people and
lose interpersonal relationship. Physical bullying direct contact to the children
through hitting or scratching. Physical contact cause wounds to the victims.
Physical bullying can be a cause of death of the victim. Sometimes the victim of
bullying can bully other persons because of real life experience. Of course bullying
affects the emotional aspects of the individual lack of self confidence self-esteem
and always afraid to people. I believe it affects the personality of an individual.
Cyberbullying use od mass media. Through internet it happens in a group chat
using pen name read by the members of the group. There is a large cases of
bullying in boys rather than girls. Adolescence period is the most crucial period of
a growing children. The victim of bullying commit suicide because of depression.
In the totality, bullying has a negative effects in the life of a victims. Parents with
the help of the school and teachers they can promote harmonious relationship
and stop bullying.
