ELECTRIFY YOUR RIDE!

AN INITIATIVE TO SAVE EARTH

INTRODUCTION
According to a report ,1056 litres of petrol is used per second in

India alone. This sums to approximately 91258700 litres per day.

This implies loads of carbon being released in the atmosphere. To

cut short on this I have an innovative solution … use of electricity

for vehicles.

The system of making the cars run on battery is efficient but not

convenient for long distance travel due to battery limitations.

The idea I believe would work is not to store electricity in cars but

make them flow on roads!

The amount of electricity consumed by the car would be

proportional to the length of distance covered by it and the owner

would pay off the money from his/her R.T.O. balance

Moreover, we have introduced a system in which the electricity

consumption by road lamps can be minimised.

A system by which the waiting time at toll plaza is considerably

reduced is also a part of my project.

For this there would be an identity card associated with the car’s

vehicle no. As it would pass the plaza a sensor would sense the

passage of car and balance would be deducted from the person’s

R.T.O balance

WORKING PRINCIPLE
Using inductive pair coupling effect, we can have a wireless transmission
of electricity from roads directly to the car.

INDUCTIVE PAIR COUPLING:

Two conductors are referred to as mutual-inductively coupled

or magnetically coupled when they are configured such that
change in current through one wire induces a voltage across
the ends of the other wire through electromagnetic induction.
This is called as Inductive pair coupling.

WORKING
Actual :

 We use A C current as when the flux changes , current is

produced, which is changed only by A C current even if there is
no relative motion w.r.t. coil.

 When the inductive coil below the car will come in the field of
under ground coil , current will get induced in the coil.

 MODEL:

• For model we will have to use D C current.

• We will provide 24v-3A.

• Frequency oscillator is used to convert D.C current to Square

pulse wave.

• Induction of current from underground induction coil takes

place .

• By using rectifier, Square Pulse wave of current will be

converted to D.C voltage.

• Then by using voltage converter 24v-1.5A will be converted to

12v-2A .

• Then the cars battery will get charged which runs the motor

Road Lamp Control

We can minimize the electricity consumption by road lamps

by switching off of the lamps which illuminates the road which
is currently unused.
For this IR sensors are placed on each electric light pole .
When the sensor senses an object the next three lamps and
turned on and the last lamps are turned off. The system is
controlled by an Arduino Microcontroller

ADVANTAGES
 Instead of having one single coil, we will divide it into many
coils .This would increase flux linkage.

 It saves a lot of fuel.

 The idea may sound expensive and impractical at the first

sight. The capital investment is high, but in the long run it
would prove to be the cheapest mode of transport due to
lesser cost of electricity than other fuels. Also India would not
have to import 36.8 million tonnes of crude oil(111.9 billion
USD) , which accounts for 16.7% of total imports.

 It is not dangerous as electricity will flow from one coil to

another only and would not harm anyone not even in the rainy
season
8
 Due to release of harmful gases like Carbon dioxide, Carbon
monoxide, etc. environment is polluted. Thus this would reduce
air pollution by 70%(Survey conducted in 2018)
