To watch an Ashes test match at Lord's

Being a cricket aficionado, it is my dream to watch an Ashes test match at Lord's.

Cricket is best in its longest format and in my opinion Lord's the place to be to witness it

Quote by Kevin Pietersen:

"Lord's is a special place. The atmosphere is unique. I love it."

Quote by Shane Warne:

"Lord's is a truly remarkable place. It's not just a cricket ground -- it's so much more than that. I have
loved playing here in all forms of the game -- I've won a fair few times here too although I'm sure the
England fans will forgive me for that."

About Ashes:

The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between England and Australia. The Ashes are regarded as
being held by the team that most recently won the Test series. If the test series is drawn, the team
that currently holds the Ashes retains the trophy. The term originated in a satirical obituary
published in a British newspaper, The Sporting Times, immediately after Australia's 1882 victory at
The Oval, its first Test win on English soil. The obituary stated that English cricket had died, and "the
body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia". The mythical ashes immediately became
associated with the 1882–83 series played in Australia, before which the English captain Ivo Bligh
had vowed to "regain those ashes". The English media therefore dubbed the tour the quest to regain
the Ashes.

This ‘Cricket ka Keeda’ bit me when I was 5 yrs old. It was a normal Sunday and I was waiting for the
4:30 pm movie on DD National. But to my disappointment, something else was getting telecasted.
The ‘innocent me’ went to my uncle and told that there is something wrong with my television and
asked whether I can watch the movie on his television set. To my horror, the same thing was getting
telecasted there as well. Then my uncle told me that there won’t be any movie telecast today since
cricket match is going on. The curious me asked. “What’s that?”

Then uncle gave me all the gyan needed to at least understand the basics of cricket.

Then there was no turning back. I used to wait for India matches and movies took a backseat. From
then till now, I have been an avid follower of cricket. Even though my mid term exams are going on, I
sneak out time to watch the Ashes series going on.

Speaking of Lord’s, more specifically, it does have this feeling of being quite a historically significant
ground. From the Members that walk in wearing their ‘uniform’ of sorts, to the Nursery which is a
pretty unique feature, to the ground itself that is unmistakably Lord’s, with its slightly weird tilt.
When we are talking about Lord’s, how can we not talk about the food that’s being served over
there.

Here’s what was at the menu when India was playing against England this year
