The table 1.1 depicts the gender of household head by provinces in Quang Ninh (22), Quang Tri
(45) and Dong Thap (87). As it can be seen from the table 1.1, there is a significant difference between
the percentages of male (1) and female (0). In general, the total number of men in these provinces
dominates over the total number of women with 320 (73.2%) and 97 (26.8%) respectively. In Quang Tri
and Dong Thap, there are three times more males than females. Surprisingly, in Quang Ninh, the
percentage of female (18.4%) is only one forths of this of male (81.6%). Overall, these three provinces do
not have a balance between two genders.

degree in these three provinces and only a few people attend colleges and universities with 1.8% and 4.8%
in total. In Quang Ninh and Quang Tri, the percentages of dewellers in lower secondary school account
for the largest proportion of 36.7% and 37.1% respectively. Surprisingly, in Dong Thap, the number of
people who has no qualification or attend only primary school is dominant with 33.3% and 40.9%. This
may be the result of not taking high education qualifications in their priority. Overall, residents in the three
provinces mostly follow lower education qualifications.
