The Republic of Namibia which officially got independence as late as in 1990 after a

long struggle and a series of complicated conflicts has a multi-party democratic

system though only one party has won elections till now and the opposition are facing
a slow death of their existence. Even after getting such a late independence, Namibia
has the honour of being the first nation on the African planet to use electronic voting.
The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used there were imported from the Republic
of India and again Indian EVMs are going to be used in the elections there going to be
held in late November
