Proposed Design of Slaughterhouse in Barangay Santol, Balayan, Batangas

Project Background:

The Municipality of Balayan is a 1st class Municipality in the Province of

Batangas. From 3rd class municipality in 1992, Balayan jumped to 2nd class municipality
in 1995, and to 1st class in July of 1996. The financial status of Balayan has been
continuously improving through the constant effort of the present administration.

Balayan has always been keen on the prospects of economic development on its
locality. Its leaders keep on finding ways and means on how to generate jobs and
eventually create income relative to augmenting the local revenue.

In line with this, the municipality of Balayan are planning the construction of a
facility that caters to butchering animals intended for sale and consumption which is
known for many as the slaughterhouse or the abattoir. According to EnP. Gonzalo A.
Baral, Head of the MPDC-Balayan, the said project will be located at Barangay Santol,
Balayan, Batangas to upgrade the basic service of the municipality in food quality and
meat supply in the community. Basically, the program will serve the municipality and
nearby town if the need arises.
