Possible Pre-treatments (1st Box)
• Cotton scouring
– Caustic conc. <5%; temperature > 85C
• Causticizing
– Caustic conc. 5-18%
– Hot causticise improves fastness
– Cold causticise gives darker shade, unique washdown
effects
• Mercerizing
– Caustic conc. 18-30%
• Sulphur bottoming
– To produce dark shades using less indigo and save cost

Stock Mix Dark Indigo


80 g/l Indigo P;
100 g/l 50% Caustic; Chemical Feed
70 g/l Hydro powder. 120 g/l 50% caustic;
60g/l Hydro powder
Feed 1.4 liters per minute
