Life Cycle of Animal

General Statement : Life cycle is a process experienced by living things that starts from
the first time the organism lives on the earth and then grows and develops into an adult
organism or living creature and multiplies to sustain its species.

Explanation : Animal life cycle is a series of life stages process that is passed by
animals ranging from eggs, hatching (for animals ovipares, if for viviparous animals then
starting from animals), adolescence, adulthood, to produce sex cells ready to be
fertilized. After adulthood animals can produce offspring again. The process of life cycle
of the animal is a cycle or cycle because it will return to its starting point. The animal's
life cycle ends when the animal dies, and starts again from the start, which is birth and
then grows and develops until it finally dies. Animal life cycle based on the process of
changing body shape can be divided into two, namely :
1. Life cycle without metamorphosis
2. Life cycle with metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is a gradual change in the shape of an animal after birth or hatching to
adulthood. most animal life cycles without experiencing metamorphosis, for example the
life cycle of cats, dogs and chickens. A small number of animals on this earth
experience metamorphosis in their life cycle, for example butterflies and cockroaches.
A. Life cycle without metamorphosis
The life cycle of animals without metamorphosis is the life cycle of animals that
begins with the birth or hatching of a new animal whose body shape is the same as
the body shape of the parent. In the life cycle without metamorphosis animals only
experience changes in body size but do not experience changes in shape. For
example chickens and cats.
B. Life cycle with metamorphosis
The life cycle of animals with metamorphosis is the life cycle of a group of animals
that are born with different forms from their mother, and undergo gradual changes in
shape to adulthood. Metamorphosis is two, namely perfect metamorphosis and
imperfect metamorphosis.
 Perfect metamorphosis
Perfect metamorphosis is experienced by animals that at birth have a body
shape that is very different from the mother. This animal must go through several
stages to have the same body as an adult animal. nimals that experience perfect
metamorphosis are butterflies, mosquitoes, frogs, moths and flies. Mosquitoes
and butterflies have. Examples of the stages of the butterfly life cycle are as
follows :
Eggs Caterpillar or Larvae Pupa Butterfly
 Imperfect metamorphosis
Animals that experience metamorphasis are not perfect forms of young animals
similar to their parents, but there are parts of the body that have not been
formed, for example wings. Examples of animals that experience imperfect
metamorphosis are dragonflies, cockroaches, crickets, and grasshoppers.
examples of the life cycle stages of cockroaches and grasshoppers are as
follows :
Eggs Nymph Insect

Conclusion : Basically all living things experience a life cycle starting from the first time
the living organism then grows, develops into an adult organism or living creature and
breeds to continue its life. Not all animals have the same life cycle because some
animals experience life cycles with metamorphosis and without metamorphosis.
