o February PTA Meeting 02/26/2019 at 2:30pm Teacher Engagement
• Membership among teachers and staff represents only 20% of the total teacher/staff body. Those who
donated received a raffle ticket. The Raffle basket is our incentive to get our teachers to participate in
helping make a better environment for our kids. We have a teacher request form and the request has
to benefit more than a handful of students.
• The School is looking into a scanning system, for student ID purposes, that would start with bused
students, and expand from there. There could be an add-on for parents, who would take a photo and
sign into the system. Parents would then receive a sticker when they arrive, if they are in the system.
This would facilitate parents picking up their kids. The cost would be $5,000 - $6,000. The PTA would
have to take a vote on this item, which could be presented at the next meeting.

Mrs. Miller’s (Principal) Report – Ms. Robbins attended on behalf of Mrs. Miller
• There will be an open safety meeting and dress code meeting on 3/21 at 7pm during the March PTA
meeting. The focus will be: do parents want a dress code ? (more formalized). There may be different
color shirts for each grade. 7th grade would pick the colors for 8th grade, and so on. There will be a
conversation about the types of pants worn and gym clothes.
• Safety agents are concerned about parents coming to school without picture ID. There will be an email
to review the procedure and remind parents they need a photo ID. Also, students need to go through
the nurse’s office when they don’t feel well, not just text parents to be picked up.
