Some key points to note:

 Be prepared with Statement of Purpose/Research Statement, Resume/CV,

Transcript, Passport (For Foreign Internships) by 1st week of September.
 Start mailing professors from now onwards for DAAD WISE (Germany),
Charpak (France) and INAE (can be done later like in December as well for
only INAE).
 Choose your Area of research wisely.
 LOR (Letter of Recommendation) is very much important for a good
application so try to take it from a professor under whom who have worked
earlier or has taken any academic course.
 Feel free to contact your seniors who have done internship at the place where
you want to apply. You can see the whole list of students and their application

 Do check the eligibility requirements such as CGPA on their website carefully
before applying for any programme.
 The above list maybe biased towards Mechanical Engineering internships.
