Our Learning Adventures Highlights Last week, we had another week full of interesting investigations! In math workshop, we solved problems involving multiplication and division situations and began investigating efficient ways to multiply and divide numbers that we are not sure of. Please see my email about multiplication fluency expectations for third grade that will be headed your way soon. In reading workshop, we investigated the connection between main idea and key details when reading an informational text. In writing workshop, we began making our writing sparkle using sensory details and worked hard to make sure that we are using complete sentences when writing. Unit of Inquiry We dug deep into our Unit of Inquiry this week by exploring how we are parts that came together to form our own community and how our classroom community is just a little part of the FAVE community, the Decatur community, and the world. We also began exploring geography and visited the Rocky and Appalachian mountain ranges via Google Earth and used our visit to create models for each mountain range.
