CONTENT STANDARD Main skill : 3.2 Understand a variety of linear and non-linear print and digital texts by using
appropriate reading strategies.
Complementary skill (s) : 3.2 Understand a variety of linear and non-linear print and digital texts by using
appropriate reading strategies.
LEARNING STANDARD Main skill : 3.2.1 Understand the main idea of short simple texts.
Complementary skill (s) : 3.2.3 Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words from clues provided by visual and the
topic.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
1. able to read and transfer at least 3 points correctly.
2. match at least 2 places correctly based on the rules.

ACTIVITIES
I) PRE-LESSON 1. A few places are shown by the slide presentation. Pupils brainstorm the rules of the places.
II) LESSON DEVELOPMENT 1. Pupils refer to textbook page 68.
2. Pupils read all the rules. (shadow read)
3. Teacher read the rules and pupils match the places based on the correct rules. Pupils write the answer on the mini
whiteboard.
4. Pupils are introduced to the 3 ‘Rules in Schools’ reading cards. Pupils read and ask if there are any words that they
don’t understand.
III) POST-LESSON 1. Pupils complete their learning diaries.
