Import/ Export procedure varies on the product specially for Vehicles & Food Products.

First of all exporter/Importer should have valid Trade License (for Commercial Goods)
and registration with Dubai Customs for Import/ Export code.
IMPORT -

Invoice/ Packing List/ Certificate of Origin and B/L or AWB is required in original for
customs clearance.

There is a provision to keep security deposit and clear the shipment, If any of above
document missing or original not available.

Find a clearing agent who will clear the shipment after paying relevant charges to
shipping line / consolidator and port. Most of items have customs duty of 5% in UAE.

Remember : Dubai port offer only 10 days free storage and most of shipping line offers
only 5 days free detention from the date of vessel arrival.

EXPORT:

Once the order is confirm from buyer and payment term is decided. Make invoice,
Packing list apply of Certificate of Origin from Chamber of Commerce. For Certificate of
Origin - Exporter should be registered with Chamber of Commerce and have user name
and password, to apply online.

book container with shipping line, Find a clearing agent to pass export declaration and
arrange a transporter for trucking container from port and return to port.

Once container is stuffed, document passed by clearing and container returned to port.
submit shipping instructions to shipping line and get the B/L once the vessel is sailed.
