I. Who is Jonathan?
Well behaved , humble, Godly, obedient with his father (Saul, King of Israel)
At that time the Philistines oppressed Israel and had weakened the army of the
Israelites. Nobody could direct the army, not even Saul, the king and commander in
chief of the armed forces. Jonathan exercised faith in God and went with his armour
bearer to the camp of the Philistines. He and his armour bearer single handedly began
to fight the Philistines. The Israelites noticed the movement in the camp of the
Philistines. Behold, Jonathan and his armour bearer had killed about twenty men. What
a courageous son!
There are many battles for you as a child of God to fight today. These battles are
against sin, sickness and Satanic activities. Be bold and courageous like Jonathan. You
have a more powerful weapon of warfare which include: salvation, holy living, power of
the Holy Spirit, faith, the sword of the Spirit (Bible) and constant prayer.
