1 Samuel 14:6-15

I. Who is Jonathan?
Well behaved , humble, Godly, obedient with his father (Saul, King of Israel)

At that time the Philistines oppressed Israel and had weakened the army of the
Israelites. Nobody could direct the army, not even Saul, the king and commander in
chief of the armed forces. Jonathan exercised faith in God and went with his armour
bearer to the camp of the Philistines. He and his armour bearer single handedly began
to fight the Philistines. The Israelites noticed the movement in the camp of the
Philistines. Behold, Jonathan and his armour bearer had killed about twenty men. What
a courageous son!
There are many battles for you as a child of God to fight today. These battles are
against sin, sickness and Satanic activities. Be bold and courageous like Jonathan. You
have a more powerful weapon of warfare which include: salvation, holy living, power of
the Holy Spirit, faith, the sword of the Spirit (Bible) and constant prayer.

Makikita natin na sila ay nagtagumpay sa kanilang balak at plano dahil mayroong

spiritu ng pagsunod. Tandaan natin, ang mga masunurin ay sinusundan ng pagapapala
at tagumpay. Ganito ang sinabi ng aklat ng Isaiah; “If you are willing and obedient, you
shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the
sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 1:19-20)
Mayroon ding payo ang Aklat ng Hebreo tungkol dito; “Obey your leaders and submit to
them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an
account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no
advantage to you.” (Hebrews 13:17)
Mayrong pang dagdag and Aklat ng Hebreo; “Remember your leaders, those who
spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate
their faith.” (Hebrews 13:7)
Mayroon ding payo si Apostol Pablo sa kanyang Sulat sa mga Taga-Tesalonica; “We
ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord
and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at
peace among yourselves.” (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13)
pagrerebelde.
Ganito ang sinabi ni Paul sa Unang Sulat niya sa Corinto; “Nevertheless, with most of
them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these
things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. Do not
be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and
drink and rose up to play.” We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them
did, and twenty- three thousand fell in a single day. We must not put Christ to the test,
as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, nor grumble, as some of them did
and were destroyed by the Destroyer. Now these things happened to them as an
example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages
has come.” (1 Corinthians 10:5-11)
