Background​: Where Did You Come From?

Events: I grew up in South Boston with a devout Catholic father and a mother who was a secret occultist. When I was
nine, my parents were killed by what I later determined was a demon my mother had summoned without
proper bindings. Through my father’s connections to the Catholic community I was fostered and educated
after the tragedy. At seventeen I discovered my own magical aptitude and descended into broad-based
magical research attempting to understand what had happened to my parents. My efforts brought me to the
attention of Boston’s Warden, who administered the White Council’s tests, which I passed, and, knowing the
connection between my efforts and my mother’s death, took me as an apprentice. Over the next thirty years
we developed a respectful working relationship that was only ended by his death in the line of duty.

Rising Conflict:​ What Shaped You?

Events: Upon my mentor’s death in combat with Red Court vampires, I learned that he had recommended me as a
candidate for recruitment to the Wardens. Aware of the mass recruitment the White Council had undertaken
to replenish the Wardens’ depleted numbers, and emboldened by my mentor’s confidence in me, I accepted
the offer despite a lack of confidence in my own skills. For the trial that would earn me my sword I was to
participate in the planning and execution of the takedown of a small-time warlock.

The Story: ​What Was Your First Adventure?

Events: I met the daunting challenge of the raid, addressing my own concerns about risks and poor information
through extensive scrying. The planning of the raid was seriously derailed early on by the presence of another
spellcaster who we had not been aware of, and who had engaged the warlock during our staging of the raid,
but was badly wounded. I and the Warden overseeing me finished the fight he had started, eliminating the
warlock, but with great difficulty due to the disruption of our plan of attack. The Warden overseeing me
considered my performance exemplary and advised the White Council to issue my sword.

Guest Star: ​Whose Path Have You Crossed?

Events: The unknown spellcaster who had almost compromised our raid on the warlock was badly wounded in the fight
before we arrived. While he had not been part of our team, he had demonstrated goals aligned with ours, so we treated
his wounds and submitted him to the White Council for evaluation. While the magic he wielded precluded becoming a full
wizard, he was determined not to be a threat, and possibly a valuable asset given the ability and personality he had
demonstrated tracking down and engaging the warlock. The White Council offered him work supporting my activities as a
newly minted Warden, which both he and I accepted.

Guest Star Redux: ​Who Else’s Path Have You Crossed?

Events: The warlock we took down was revealed in the aftermath of the raid to have had another victim, Chet
(Mooncrystal). Evaluation revealed he had been badly maddened by his lack of control over the Sight, but his unusual
aptitude for long-term magic binding was not lost on the warlock or us. Reasoning that he might trust me more than most
after rescuing him, and that I would be in a good position to police his use of magic, the White Council persuaded him to
work with them and assigned him to me as the second member of my enforcer team. In the months since we have carried
out several missions together successfully, with my circumspection and knowledge of a variety of threats balancing Lex’s
paranoia and occasional impulsiveness and Chet’s hyperfocus on the supernatural.
