DOST awards packaging & labeling designs,

SETUP iFund to Aklan MSMEs


Kalibo, Aklan—Department of Science and Technology VI awarded packaging and labeling designs and Small
Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) Innovation Fund (iFund) to several Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the Capitol Ground, Kalibo.

Packaging and labeling designs were awarded to Tita Edith’s Peanut Butter, Bullo Hillside Integrated Farm,
S.D.A.H. Mushroom Farm, Myerna & Rence Banana Chips, Roselo Foods Delicacies, Sr. Alfred Crafts, 27
Bakeshop, Baligyaan Nature’s Product, Fret’z Banana Chips, Tejada’s Food Processing, Jn & Jr Herbal
Products and Eden’s Food Products.

Meanwhile, Jean’s Cakes and Pastries, Virgie’s Pasalubong Delicacies and Villorente Twin Builders
Corporation received SETUP iFund.

SETUP is DOST’s key strategy to boost the competitiveness of MSMEs through the provision of science and
technology-based interventions.

This includes technical consultancy services, product development, process and equipment upgrading,
technology training, laboratory and testing services, packaging and labeling assistance, among others.

Priority sectors are those belonging to food processing, furniture, gifts, decors and housewares, agriculture,
aquaculture and marine, metals and engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), and
