5 Analysis
Boundary Conditions
For the purpose of numerical analysis the boundary conditions are kept as fixed at bottom of
columns.
Dead Load
Live Load
5.2.1.1 Self-weight
The self-weight of the structure is calculated by STAAD Pro from assigned section parameters and material
properties.
1. 1.5(DL + LL1)
2. 1.5(DL + LL2)
3.
Refer Table 1 & Table 2 for list of Load cases & Load combinations and factors as applied in STAAD model
for analysis.

Description
Load Comb. DL LL1 LL2
6.1.1.1 Slab
The slab is designed for loads from the Load combinations applied in STAAD analysis. The depth assumed
based upon permissible deflection and checked for maximum bending moment and shear force.
6.1.1.2 Beam
The beam is designed for critical loads from the Load combinations applied in STAAD analysis. It is designed
for maximum bending moment and shear force. The beams are checked for deflection in serviceability
corresponding to critical load combination.
6.1.1.3 Column
The columns are designed for critical loads from the Load combinations applied in STAAD analysis. It is
designed for maximum bending moment, shear force and checked for permissible deflection/ drift.
Bearing capacity of soil is assumed as 20t/m2 i.e. 200kN/m2 and the same must be confirmed at site prior
to the start of any construction activity.
