‘Derrick Rose’

Derrick Martell Rose commonly known as D.Rose was born on October 4, 1988 in
Chicago, Illinois. Derrick Rose was a passionately basketball player, Rose finished his senior
year averaging 25.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 9.1 assists, and 3.4 steals per game. He played one year
of college basketball for the Memphis tigers where he averaged 14.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and
4.7 assists per game before being drafted first overall by his Hometown Chicago Bulls in the
2008 NBA Draft. In 2009, he was named the decade’s third greatest high school point guard by
ESPN Rise. In his rookie year in the NBA, Derrick Rose averaged 16.8 points, and 6.3 assists per
game. He played in 81 games in his first season. Rose was voted NBA Rookie of the Year, and
was named 2009 NBA All-Rookie first team. Every season D.Rose gets even better and in 2010-
2011 seasons he was named as the Most Valuable Player where he becomes the youngest MVP
in NBA History. 2012 first game of playoffs vs. Detroit Pistons rose tore his left ACL and
missed the rest of the playoffs. After the few years injuries just keep coming on him ankle injury,
back injury and etc it’s just keep on killing him slowly. That’s when the bulls decide to trade
Rose; he was traded to New York Knicks on 2016. And his career with the New York just didn’t
go the way everyone expect it they didn’t even make it to playoffs and in 2017-2018 he was
traded to Cleveland Cavaliers where he will play with Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Kevin
Love and so many great players. But like New York the chemistry didn’t work out so they ended
up trading everyone before the trade deadline and D.Rose went to Minnesota his present team
where he was making the greatest comeback of his life. This 2018-2019 season they say the
prime rose is back this season he set his career high 50 points and got the winning block to give
his team the win. After that game Rose was in his tears and thanking everybody for their support.
Then why did I choose this, why do I have to summarize the life of Rose. I want to tell

everybody how hard Rose life but he didn’t give up instead he still striving for the top everyday
playing like it is his last game giving his best to prove himself again. Rose was my inspiration he
give me a lot of knowledge and teaches me a lot, not literally teaches me but give me courage to
face how you will face your problem and how you need to enjoy your life and make it count.
Back to 2014 I was a basketball player I played in every barangay league i can get into. Just like
Rose I’m having the time of my life playing with my friends, family and every other player.
Until that one day it was before graduation me and my teammates decide to play basketball in
others home court. I got injured I fractured my right arm, broke my radius and ulna. I was sad
because my mom didn’t know how to get money for my surgery my mom did everything for me
I was so thankful she was there. Everyone leaves; forget me but not my mom. Also my
Grandmother and auntie help my mom for my surgery. After that surgery I have been in bed for
two months can’t move my hand. After two months and school is starting I promise myself that I
will work hard for my family. And I was a little bit hardheaded last year I decide to play my first
basketball game after my injury it was great having that feeling. Until now I still play but I
decide to keep it secret because my mom will kill me if she knows about it. Rose and I have a
same story I’m also making the greatest comeback of my life. Rose inspires me that if you were
trip down in your life, you don’t need to make yourself more pity. What you need is strive back,
work hard and prove everyone that they are wrong on what they think about you, and also always
remember that God Almighty is with you and he will never let you down.
