Today we will talk about adverbs
The adverb is a part of the sentence whose main function is to modify or
complement the meaning of the verb, the adjective or another adverb.
Example:
The teacher speaks slowly
the adverb 'slowly' explains how an action occurs.
TYPES OF ADVERBS

- ADVERBS OF PLACE: Indicate where an action is performed.


Example: around, far, there, here.

- ADVERBS OF TIME: Indicate when an action takes place.


Example: at first, again, before.

- ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY: Indicate how much an action is performed.


Example: always, frequently, sometimes, never.

- ADVERBS OF QUANTITY: Express the amount of something.


Example: Little, much, very, too.

- ADVERBS OF MANNER: They express how an action is performed. Most of


these abverbs have the termination Ly.
Example: careful – carefully easy – easily
Exceptions: well, aloud etc…

- INTERROGATIVE ADVERBS: They are used to ask questions.


Example: when?, where?, why?, how?

- RELATIVE ADVERBS:
Example: when, where, why.

- ORDINAL ADVERBS:
Example: firstly, secondly.

- ADVERBS OF DEGREE: They indicate the intensity with which the action is
performed.
Example: completely, extremely, greatly.

- ADVERBS OF PROBABILITY:
Example: maybe, perhaps, possibly, probably.
- ADVERBS OF AFFIRMATION:
Example: certainly, naturally, of course, surely (seguramente), etc.

- ADVERBS OF NEGATION:
Example: no, not, never, not at all
